[image]() {NAME}, This cheap second citizenship could go away forever on May 14. That's when voters head to the polls to decide whether they will re-elect the current administration, or elect an opposition party who has vowed to close the citizenship down. I'm talking about Turkey's citizenship by investment program, and my contacts in Istanbul tell me that even if the current administration wins the program may close forever later this year. Now before you dismiss Turkey, allow me to explain why this is worth considering. After all, you came here to get insights from someone who has been Nomad-ing since the 2000s, so take a moment to forget what CNN or the BBC tells you and hear me out. First of all, getting citizenship in Turkey requires only a pure investment. There are no donations, government fees among the most reasonable of any such program, and you can re-sell your investment after three years. The apartment I purchased in Istanbul in December 2020 has increased substantially [as we covered here](=). That means in theory, you could actually make a substantial profit that more than covers the nominal fees to get your Plan B. If you [work with Nomad Capitalist](), we have folks on the ground that do the very hard work of finding honest, well-priced deals. This is how we help our clients avoid the overpriced new developments that people buy into thinking all real estate deals are the same... until they lose 60-80% of their money a few years later. (Ask me about the guy who turned $1 million into $225,000 before he came to us.) Basically, you pay us a flat fee to handle all of the dirty work, manage 3-4 different vendors, and ensure you get the best deal possible and not some overpriced condo in the bad part of town. So now that we've established that you can actually MAKE money on this deal if done right, let's talk about the passport. Turkey's passport does not offer visa-free travel to the US, Canada, or Europe. It does however offer visa-free travel to most of the rest of the world, including every country in Latin America and almost all of Asia. It also offers access to a few exotic countries. If you already hold a western passport, this could be a good complement. If you plan to acquire a second and a third additional citizenship, Turkey can play in well with that as well. We have clients who have used their Turkish passport to travel all of the world including Thailand, Colombia, Argentina, and of course Turkey. You even get greater tourist privileges in countries like Malaysia than some westerners. So the deal is to make an investment for a few years, and get paid to get a passport you and your family can keep forever. Now, Turkey may not be right for you, but I often find westerners dismiss it before they understand how it could benefit your overall Plan. If you wouldn't leave the USA because Trump or Biden won, consider that who is in charge of a country whose passport you hold while living overseas probably doesn't matter as much as you think. Too many people treat second citizenship as a "shiny object" and buy stuff they don't need and overpay, writing off places like Turkey. My message to you is to understand all of your options, including the one that's basically free. But you may not have a choice as of later this month if the opposition party wins. Just as we've seen programs close in Portugal, Ireland, Montenegro, and elsewhere this year, we may see this program close soon enough. Even if this program sticks around forever, prices in Istanbul have already gone up quite a bit and it wouldn't be a bad market to get in on. Istanbul is still a bargain by our metrics, and we're hearing a lot of Russians are flocking to get citizenship before the elections, so prices may go up further. Most service providers in the citizenship space make their money from commissions, not fees. We've been offered up to 24% commissions to sell real estate in Turkey, which of course is a terrible investment. My pitch to you is simple: let us review whether Turkey should be part of your mix. If not, we'll propose alternatives. If it is, we'll find you the best deal. The fee for our Plan creation service is $25,000 and covers everything from citizenship to real estate to taxes to banking (all of which you'll need help with). But I can almost guarantee anyone investing $400,000 overseas will save at least $25,000 by hiring us, which means you are basically getting a tax, citizenship, and real estate plan for free. If you'd like our help with understanding all of your citizenship options from an agnostic perspective, just reply to this email and Jamie will be happy to assist you. Turkey is not our most profitable offering, but because we treat our clients like the customer and not the product, it's one we recommend given it may cost you nothing.
