That’s why we try really hard not to send scary emails saying things like “It’s over for us if you don't contribute RIGHT NOW!” – because we're committed to moving forward with this work, whatever it takes, even when times are so tough that we can barely keep the lights on. That said, sometimes the numbers are just that bad, and this is unfortunately one of those months. With just 8 hours to go before our end-of-month deadline, we need to raise a minimum of $8,472 by midnight in order to avoid having to make some tough decisions on where to make cuts to our election-year efforts. [CLICK HERE TO HELP US MEET OUR GOAL]( We don’t come up with these funding targets out of thin air – they’re a reflection of the minimum cash we know we need on hand to be able to commit resources to things like grassroots organizing, volunteer training, digital media campaigns, and campaign support for our endorsed candidates. The truth is that we NEED a minimum level of resources to do this work. Organizers, volunteer recruitment and training, ad buys, even these fundraising emails – none of it is free, it all costs money. Our overhead is as low as we can possibly make it – you can count our entire staff on one hand, and we all wear more than one hat, working long hours for salaries well below industry standard. We don’t say this to complain! We CHOOSE to be here because we believe so strongly in the importance of this work! We say it to point out that even though we all sacrifice to make sure as much of the funding we raise goes straight to the mission as possible, there are some months where even making our modest payroll seems like a stretch. This is one of those months. Supporters like you have already been so generous. You’ve helped us grow to the point where we’re flooded every day with applications from promising Democratic candidates in red states and districts all across the country seeking our endorsement and support. We wish we could say yes to them all! But we simply can’t do it without your continued support, because it’s important to us that an endorsement from No Dem Left Behind MEAN something – that we can put our money where our mouth is and offer our candidates meaningful assistance. The fact is, poll after poll shows Democrats slipping. Republicans are hammering our candidates with brutal attacks, and we don’t have enough money to help them fight back.
