I wanted to give an update on not just my thoughts of the ongoing situation in Afghanistan, but also, the ongoing fiasco right here at home with the media and the GQP. Where we are right now is, the White House and the Pentagon are being completely transparent---something we’re definitely not used to--especially after the last administration which was involved in numerous cover-ups and unpatriotic actions. As a result, the media is having a field day. Look, it’s no secret that the party in power tends to be scrutinized. But this time, it’s crucial that we don’t lose either house in Congress. The media is attacking President Biden relentlessly for ending a 20-year war where we spent trillions of American taxpayer dollars and lost thousands of American lives. While the GQP continues to do the bidding of military contractors and the industrial complex, it is up to us to make sure that we fight for not what’s fashionable but what’s right. And that is doing what’s best for our soldiers, our citizens and standing by our allies. That means we have to make every concerted effort to evacuate interpreters, their families and refugees and give them a home. These are men and women who worked tirelessly alongside us to further American interests and create a more peaceful Afghanistan. While the goal may not have been achieved, we cannot abandon our friends. The reason it’s important to fight back against the onslaught of the media toward President Biden is because right now, the Democratic party is the only party fighting for America’s values. The GQP cultists like Marjorie Traitor Greene and Lauren Boebert are openly providing support to the Taliban! Just this week, we had a case of domestic terrorism with a bomber at the Capitol, and the GQP representatives didn’t bat an eye! We cannot have a functioning democracy and uphold our constitutional values if the party in power openly supports fascist regimes at home and abroad. [This is why I’m asking you once again to join us in this fight! It is imperative that we hold onto Congress in the midterms and elect more Democrats in rural areas. It is time we stopped endangering the lives of American soldiers in useless wars to profit contractors.
