In particular, we cannot forget the Israel hostages still trapped in Palestine. Netanyahu’s extremist right-wing government has repeatedly tried to silence hostages who call for peace.  Meanwhile, the mounting Palestinian death toll has led South Africa to accuse the Israeli government of genocide, a charge being brought before the International Court of Justice at The Hague. The gravity of the situation cannot be overstated – over 30,000 lives lost, including 28,000 civilians, their suffering amplified by Israeli and American bombs.  The suffering in Palestine demands our focused attention, and regrettably, our political establishment seems to have lost sight of the hostages at the center of this crisis. No Dem Left Behind remains steadfast in refusing to turn away from this critical issue. The charge of genocide serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need to address the extreme loss of life at the centre of this terrible war.
