It is important for us to break away from time to time, because the challenges we face in 2024 are not ones we can take lightly. First, let's address the elephant in the room: we as Democrats are not all on the same page. As a country we are facing an immigration crisis, and the rising costs of everyday items are a fact, a fact that is impacting the middle class. Those are what the headlines read – here is the reality.  Greedy corporations and Republican tax cuts have created a historic wealth gap, and while the rich get richer, inflation soars. As Democrats, we have tried to raise wages and restore worker’s rights, but our work is far from over.  Congress, specifically MAGA members of Congress, refuse and have refused for years to even address immigration in our country. The truth is, as a country we are facing massive labor shortages and we have folks that are literally willing to risk it all to come do these jobs. Yet we can't seem to figure out a way to make it all work.  This is being done on purpose. The scenes you are seeing at the border and in our major cities are all coordinated efforts by MAGA extremists to put the blame for immigration issues on Democrats. But these problems were not created by Democrats, and they require holistic solutions that take everything into consideration. That is why the VP was sent to South America to meet with leaders to get a better understanding of the circumstances that are forcing desperate people to flee their homes.  Of course, that is something that MAGA Republicans would never care to even think about. That is what separates our side from theirs. We care, we try to find solutions, we try to help. They just blame, and then deflect.
