attacks on our rights stem from similar places "Alliance Defending Freedom"  {NAME}, with a decision on mifepristone access and the FDA's approval of the drug looming in the near future, it's essential to examine the context of this case. Here are the facts on The Alliance Defending Freedom, the group responsible for this case, and many others that have made it in front of the conservative majority on the Supreme Court.  The group was founded in 1993 and has been at the forefront of monumental cases, including creating the blueprint for overturning Roe with the Dobbs v. Jackson decision. Founded as a part of the evolving Christian rightwing movement, one of their core desires has been to restrict access to abortion and birth control in the United States and other nations. They have also been behind significant cases against LGBTQ+ rights, including the infamous 303 Creative LLC v. Elenis case. The Southern Poverty Law Center has designated ADF as a hate group towards LGBTQ+ individuals.  As a staunchly anti-choice group, their aim in legal cases is to "protect all life," and, per their website, they affirm that their stance on legal arguments is "[l]ife should be protected from conception to natural death." So, this is yet another group with the idea of "conception" (whether or not that is in valid biological terms or follows any science) as the beginning of life, thus arguing for abortion to be outlawed or at least heavily restricted as it stands currently.  Now, they are again in the courts, representing an anti-choice healthcare group with an expected case on mifepristone to be before SCOTUS in Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. U.S. Food and Drug Administration.  They have been historically successful in their cases, which bodes poorly for the future of access to medication abortion, which is used in over 50% of abortion procedures, according to Guttmacher.  The truth here is simple: activist groups with a religious incentive to restrict rights according to their beliefs should not be a part of the decision-making process for the rest of us. [Help us fight back and champion access to reproductive rights and healthcare by donating today:]( If you’ve saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [Chip in $24]( [Chip in $50]( [Chip in $75]( [Chip in $124]( [RUSH $250 !]( [Other Amount]( In this together, Anna Scudder Reproductive Health & Justice Correspondent No Dem Left Behind The Roe Report No Dem Left Behind PAC 80M St. SE Suite 100 Washington D.C. 20003 Paid for by No Dem Left Behind PAC.
