My Faceless YouTube Account Got "Slapped"

In early February, I partnered up with someone to start a YouTube channel where we didn't appear in our videos. Often called a "faceless" Youtube channel (even though people do appear in the clips we use). A couple of months in we got monetized and one of our videos really started taking off! In fact, our top video now has 981,000 views! We were riding high as our channel was pulling in about $80 to $90 per day at the end of last month. Then we got SLAPPED with a Copyright claim. Our appeal was denied. And just like that our earnings went down to $1 to $2 per day. (Nearly all of our earnings were coming from that 1 video...and it got de-monetized). Look at this ugly graph... ​ Honestly, we knew we were playing with fire though. So, it's not completely shocking. Our video probably deserved to get slapped with the copyright infringement. We are combining clips from other videos (with original commentary) but this one toed the line a bit too close. The crazy part? Our original projections were to only make $80 for the entire month of June. So, even after the copyright hit, we are still above our projections. The plan is to keep producing about another 50 videos for this channel and then see where we stand. As always, I'm here to share both the good and the bad. I have no "dog in this fight" to convince you one way or another to try creating a "faceless" YouTube channel. I just enjoy trying these little online hustles and sharing my experiences. --------------------------------------------------------------- A Model I'm More Comfortable With...
