I have a particular affiliate offer that I promote that typically was sending a few leads a day.

However, I decided to move from one affiliate network to another affiliate network with the same offer. The result? Suddenly, I was getting almost no leads after an entire month...instead of a few leads a day. I couldn't figure it out. I hadn't changed my articles, the traffic source was the same, the landing page for the affiliate offer was the same. The only thing that had changed was my affiliate link. The new affiliate network I had moved to was Impact, and I was able to contact the affiliate manager for the particular offer I was promoting. Turns out the affiliate offer had made a mistake when setting my affiliate link up and hadn't attached a campaign id! What!? Based on my conversion rates and traffic when I was promoting this offer on the original affiliate network, I was expecting about $530 in earnings. Turns out the affiliate manager is super cool, and is going to pay me the $530 out of good faith, even though the tracking wasn't working on their end properly. Fortunately, my story has a good ending. I'm getting the back pay I was shorted, and my links are all working properly now. I did nothing wrong on my end, but sometimes things like this happen. The moral of the story? If something looks off with your affiliate earnings, it's worth reaching out to the affiliate manager or company you are promoting. Testing, tracking, and analyzing your affiliate links and earnings can help catch mistakes. I personally have been using [Affilimate](=) for about a year now to track my affiliate earnings, and this is originally what triggered my questions with this particular affiliate offer.
