I was messaging a colleague last night and was asked, "Why don't you sell courses for Niche Pursuits?" The assumption was that I could make a ton of money teaching people how to build niche sites. I mean, [I just sold 2 niche sites](! One for over $250k and the other site for an undisclosed larger amount. Many people would be more than happy to fork over some money to get official training from me on building and selling niche sites. Well, I informed this person that I was messaging, that I actually made a decision 2.5 years ago that I would NEVER sell another online training course again. And I plan to stick to that promise I made to myself. In fact, I I wrote an entire article titled, ["I Quit! I'm Never Going to Sell Another Online Course..."](=) Call it a flashback Friday if you want, but I think this article I wrote a couple years ago is well worth the read. Read [Why I stopped selling courses and what I'm doing instead.](=) At the time, I was making over $100k a year from selling my own courses. I decided to give that up and focus on software and affiliate marketing. Looking back 2.5 years later, I'm super happy with my decision! I've been able to grow my software and affiliate marketing business by much more than the $100k a year that I gave up from selling courses. In the article, I discuss Niche Pursuits in particular and my desire to focus on growing the SEO traffic to the site. I've doubled down on that decision even more this year and that is proving to be a good decision. Traffic and income are increasing. I've been able to grow and expand Link Whisper signifcantly since it launched (shortly before I wrote this article). And of course, I was able to grow and sell 2 niche sites for a great exit. And finally, I do have 2 more niche sites that I'm working on. And who knows, the entrenpreneurial bug may bite at some point in the future and I'll start another site or software project! But none of this would be feasible if I was focusing all my time trying to "teach" others through online courses. I'm SO happy both financially and personally with my decision to never sell online courses again. And I was glad that I was reminded of that decision in a random chat last night. The article I wrote also references a few affiliate businesses doing millions on the Inc. 5000 list. Be sure to [read the entire article right here](=). Finally as a reminder, I'm been giving Niche Pursuits readers a $20 off dicount on Link Whisper this week. But that ends tomorrow!
