How does someone go from selling used clothes to building a $1,000 a month website? Better yet, this

How does someone go from selling used clothes to building a $1,000 a month website? Better yet, this person took what they learned from that first website and built an online empire now doing $25k to $90k a month. Chelsea Clarke of Her Paper Route dot com joins us for an interview this week, and yes, her best month so far this year was $90k in revenue! How does she do it? Chelsea describes herself as “a niche website investor, growth-hacker, and Business Intermediary who helps people buy, scale, and sell online businesses.” She started at zero, like the rest of us. Her first online business was selling clothing on eBay while at college, though she went on to get a job in marketing. However, after having her first child, she realized she wanted to stay home with her new baby after the maternity leave had finished. This is what drove her to start and grow an affiliate site in the beauty niche. [Find out how quickly she was able to get results in the interview here](). After a year she decided to sell her first niche site and she used that money to launch and grow what is now her main site, Her Paper Route. Alongside this site, she has a website marketplace that generates a decent chunk of her income through commissions. She shares some of website sale results she’s had over the past year in the interview. Also, find out her unique way of monetizing a niche with affiliate offers - it involves creating a free course or other digital product, but it definitely gets results! Chelsea delivers a ton of practical advice throughout the interview that is helpful for entrepreneurs at every stage of their journey. [Read about Chelsea's online business journey here](). --------------------------------------------------------------- Could You Buy A Site In A Niche You Enjoy? There are a total of [9 sites for sale here on Motion Invest right now](=). One of the new listings is in the ski niche and is pictured above. It’s getting a fantastic amount of traffic and making over $1000 per month. In many of our interviews with entrepreneurs lately, the same thing has come up: ‘Start or buy a site in a niche that you’re interested in or passionate about.’ For example, Matt Giovanisci started a site in the brewing niche because he loves brewing and drinking beer. It was a way to save money because now he can put a lot of those expenses through the business! The same goes with a site like this ski listing. Do you love skiing or snowboarding and do it anyway? Why not write a review on your new ski boots on the slopes at the same time? If you’re not interested in skiing, there are also listings in the follow niches: - Fitness and health - Underwear - Home improvement and appliances - Radio and technology - Basketball and apparel - Movie projectors - Plus more! [Make sure you take a look at all the current listings here.](=) And remember, if you like the look of those sale multiples, you can sell your site with Motion Invest as well! --------------------------------------------------------------- 110+ actionable tasks to help you get from zero to $19k How can you make $19K starting from zero? The author of [this article on Notion.com](, Matteo Mosca, shares how he did just that. He states: “This is exactly what I did to make $19k, starting from zero. It's my private ever-improving founder list in which I'm going to add more business tasks once I proved they work. Check out the list and let me know what you think!” I'm not sure it's the most robust list on getting to revenue, but it does do a great job of step by step of how to select a niche. The steps involve: - Tips on how to find fast-growing markets - Finding active and growing communities related to these markets - How to analyze community members - Calculating how much money you can make from an audience The steps he outlines are both research driven and a bit analytical, but doesn't overlook doing a simple gut check. Matteo's section titled "😴 Do something else for 1 or 2 days" does just that. Take a step away for a couple days and see if the excitement for the niche is still there, if it is you may have found the niche for you. It goes on - there is much more than this, and it’s well worth a look! Overall, I hope you have a great weekend and thanks again for reading.
