Alright, I've decided to dig into my archives a little bit and share a couple of examples of niche sites that I started a long time ago. Back in 2008 or 2009 when I was first getting started building out small niche sites, my goal was simple. I wanted to make $1 per day per site. Then I built hundreds of sites. (And yes, it worked...really well). I'm NOT recommending you go this route because Google has changed A LOT since those days, but humor me as I share a couple of examples. (For the record, I think it would be wise nowadays to focus on 1 or 2 sites at a time until you grow or sell it). So, how narrow were some of my niche sites? Well, my first "successful" niche site was on the subject of worm farms! Yep, worm farms. This little site started it all for me. I quickly started making $1 a day with this site and then around $200 a month at its peak...nothing too amazing. But that little site gave me the confidence that "this internet money thing actually works!" So, I decided to replicate the process with a bunch of sites. I had sites on the subject of buffalo nickles, sick dogs (really...), and perhaps my favorite...fleece ferret hammocks. Yep, I was making like $100 a month ranking on the first page of Google for fleece ferret hammocks. I spend my time now on sites that can grow bigger than that...but I still like to reminicence about the good old days. Why am I sharing this? Well, this week I saw a site go up for sale that kinda reminded me that sometimes going after a really small niche can be a good thing. On Motion Invest, a site that focuses exclusively on Pontoon boats went up for sale. Not boats in general, but ONLY pontoon boats. Good stuff. The best part? This site is making a shocking $6,700 a month and has tons of growth potential. Go ahead and check out [this site for sale on Motion Invest right here.](=) (You can see the domain name, the earning sources, and everything at that link). Whether or not you are interested in that particular site, I think its always an important excercise to think about how narrow or broad your niche site should be. Sometimes the more narrow sites actually perform better because they cover a topic in much more depth. So, is your site too broad...or too niche? --------------------------------------------------------------- Get a Free DA 40+ Link - Ends Soon Earlier this week, I did an interview with the founder of One Little Web - a link building agency. They specialize in guest post links acquired through outreach. The cool part is that they do the outreach, and then you can approve the domain BEFORE the guest post link is placed. So, if you don't like the domain, you can tell One Little Web to go find a better one. This week only, One Little Web is offering the Niche Pursuits audience a free DA 40+ link when they order a DA 50 link. I went through the process myself and the domains that they sent to me did indeed have great metrics in Ahrefs (with growing traffic) and appeared to have a clean link profile. So, if you want to try out One Little Web and claim your free DA 40 link, the offer is only good for a little while longer. [Get all the details for One Little Web here.]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Do you like this newsletter? Finally, I have been working on a little project that you can participate in. I know it may not always seem like it, but it takes me quite a bit of time to create content, source special deals, and write up an email newsletter like the one you are reading now. I want more and more people to be able to get the content that I'm publishing in my newsletter, and the most targeted email subscribers come from word of mouth. In other words, I'd LOVE it if you told your friends about the Niche Pursuits newsletter. But in order to incentivize you to actually share my email newsletter, I created a referral program where you can earn rewards for sharing my newsletter! Want my keyword research and content formulas spreadsheet? Want a copy of my 10 favorite business books? Want to fly into my city and have lunch with me? Well, all of that is possible with a little hustle. Check out the details below to get your unique referral link and learn what the prizes are for sharing my email newsletter with others! Share Niche Pursuits Unlock rewards when you share Niche Pursuits Newsletter. From exclusive content templates and spreadsheet formulas, Link Whisper Lifetime Account and even an awesome Niche Pursuit shirt. The more you share the more rewards you unlock! [CLICK TO SHARE]() Or copy & paste your referral link to others: Overall, I hope you enjoyed some of the thoughts and ideas I shared today...and that they help you think about your business a little differently.
