The Power of Accountability in business...

In life and in business, there's something more powerful than strategies or the next big idea. Follow-through. ​ Call it reverse shiny object syndrome if you will. If you can focus and actually follow-through with your commitments to stick with a business, your odds of success go up tremendously. One of the absolute BEST ways to ensure that you stick with your goals and commitments? ​ Accountability. ​ When you know others are aware of your goals and that you have to report back to them, you suddenly find that extra motivation to actually work on whatever you said you would work on. ​ It's one of the greatest "life hacks". For example, I've run 16 marathons and qualified for the Boston Marathon 3 times. ​ Honestly, I was only able to accomplish all this because I had friends and family that I had shared my goals with and I KNEW they would be checking in on how my training would be going. Even better, I had a training partner that would go running with me and he had goals to run the Boston Marathon as well. ​ I was his accountability buddy and he was mine. I probably would have never run a single marathon if I had just kept my goals to myself.
