PRO BOWL HAT TRICK FOR JA'MARR CHASE AND TREY HENDRICKSON Ja'Marr Chase and Trey Hendrickson each claimed their third straight Pro Bowl selection Wednesday night to put themselves in the rarified air of Bengaldom. Chase joins the Bengals' royal line of wide receivers with his third Pro Bowl berth in his third season to match Isaac Curtis, Cris Collinsworth, and A.J. Green. Hendrickson, who set a new career high with 17 sacks this year, is now on the list with franchise icons Geno Atkins, Lemar Parrish, and David Fulcher as defenders who have been named to at least three straight Pro Bowls. Since signing the most lucrative free-agent deal in Bengals history before the 2021 season, Hendrickson has gone to every Pro Bowl while racking up 39 sacks, already 10th most in Bengals history. During that 47-game span, he has the fifth most sacks in the league and only T.J. Watt and Myles Garrett have more than his 52.5 in the 2020s. "I think these are the kind of games, too, where you remember," Browning said. "I'm going to remember that (center) Ted Karras showed up today and was dialed (in) and super intense, just like this game meant everything in the world. I don't remember all the good and bad plays Ted has, but I'll remember how he acted when we're out of it. "I think you want to be remembered well in the locker room. Because I think people remember, more so than how you played, if you played well or didn't play well, they remember what was your level of intensity and were you a pro?" "A big, happy guy all the time who loved kids and the church," says Anderson-Bacon of his dad, gone 15 years this past Christmas week at age 66, a beloved figure in his hometown of Ironton, Ohio where, at the end, he was known for loading troubled youth into passenger vans on field trips trying to get their lives back on the road. "He loved the Bengals. He loved his time there. He would always talk about those sacks and that team. He had Bengals' stuff hanging all over the place at the house in Ironton." "Our No. 1 objective is to win this game by any means necessary. However, that looks is however it looks," said Taylor Monday as he mapped out plans for the 8-8 Bengals against an 11-5 Browns team locked into the fifth seed. "The fans that have continued to support us and cheer for this team and put their heart and soul into supporting us, get a chance to watch us play hard in a home game and find a way to win." "We've got a roster of guys that I know are going to put their best effort forth all week in practice and in the game. So, we're going to have a great plan. We're doing everything we can to win this game and end the season on a high note," stated Taylor. "I came this far, I'm playing. I'm finishing the year strong." Hubbard said Monday. As the players began to make their way to the buses taking them to the airport and a new year, wide receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins went over to Browning's locker, and they talked some shop. Chase ended up playing 73% of the plays, about the same percentage he put on the condition of his sprained shoulder that kept him out of the Pittsburgh game last week and put his status for Sunday questionable until Saturday. In one final, ironic twist, it was Higgins who played only 30 snaps, but he returned after he missed the bulk of the first half when he re-aggravated the hamstring injury that has dogged him since October. "A testament to the locker room," agreed Higgins. "We were both needed. We both made the decision. He made the decision to play the game. I made the decision to finish it out."
