After Seattle's DK Metcalf threw him down in frustration, Buffalo's Stefon Diggs motioned away from him. His three interceptions are tied for second among cornerbacks. Tyler Boyd has seen enough to cast a post-election day vote. "Probably an All-Pro corner right now in my eyes," Boyd said. "He's making turnovers. He's chopping down (big-time) receivers, he's tackling well. He's playing all-around great defense. Cornerbacks only want to cover. They don't want to tackle. They don't want to get their nose dirty. Taylor said Monday he's not sure about that because it's not an overall philosophy driving it, but rather each situation dictated by that week's opponent and state of his own team that day. Brian Callahan is sure that Joe Mixon's game-ending five-yard freeze job on the great Von Miller saved them from a severe angst of a decision. "That decision just gets to float off into oblivion and we don't have to talk about it," Callahan said. "That was a big moment. Yeah, that was a big moment." Mixon is used to big moments. Remember what he did himself in the playoffs in Kansas City two years ago when he owned overtime of the AFC title game. Travel with the No. 1 cornerback and that meant Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs. But a funny thing happened during Bengals' 24-18 win that knocks 5-4 Buffalo out of the playoffs and back into "In the Hunt," after Cincinnati's first win over an AFC team this year. "They kept running him away. He kept getting in the slot," said Taylor-Britt, who still had an interception and a third-down red-zone play. "In the beginning, I'll say that was (the plan). He'd start outside. Look at the film. Every play he's motioning." Taylor-Britt and the defense responded the way they have most of the season. In front of 66,965 dressed in a memorable striped vignette of alternating sections of orange and black, the 5-3 Bengals racked up their fourth straight over the 5-4 Bills when they subdued quarterback Josh Allen on 258 yards on 68% passing (26-38), below his league-leading 71.7 and his 270 yards per game. But it wasn't over until the play after the two-minute warning, when Bengals running back Joe Mixon converted a third-and-three freezing Hall-of-Fame defensive end Von Miller on the perimeter for a five-yard gain.
