[View online](=) //WEEKLY ☰ ⊗ [News](=) [Reviews]( [Best Lists]( [Videos]() [Community]() Dear {NAME}, Have you wondered whether Apple's first mixed reality headset, the Apple Vision Pro, could drag us into a dystopian reality where we're tethered to our VR headsets? Well, let's take a deep breath—it's not going to happen. Post WWDC 2023, we all gulped at the Vision Pro's hefty $3,500 tag. Along with it came some unease about the idea of such a headset becoming a regular part of our everyday lives. In addition, my colleague Antoine Engels noticed a wave of tech-savvy individuals on his Twitter feed expressing apprehension about the idea, with the concept of a 'Ready Player One'-like future generating considerable buzz. But here's the deal— that's not what Apple is shooting for with the Vision Pro. Even if they were, technically, it wouldn't be feasible. Remember, it's a mixed-reality headset, not purely virtual. It aims to blend, not barricade, the virtual and the tangible. And with a battery life of just two hours, any notion of being stuck in the 'Matrix' is quite laughable! In this week's highlight, Antoine refutes the fear of dystopia surrounding the Apple Vision Pro, and perhaps you should too! Here's to an amazing Wednesday for you! ¢Â€Â‹ Camila Rinaldi Head of Editorial --------------------------------------------------------------- //The Bottom Line Calm down, the Apple Vision Pro headset isn't that dystopian | Opinion Is Apple dreaming of a future where we're all trapped in virtual reality, totally beholden to our VR headsets? I don't think so. [Read this story]( nextpit changes: What's behind the new logo? Nextpit is changing! But don't worry — these changes should please the community first and foremost.
