Good morning {NAME}, today I'd like to start my newsletter with a little anecdote! Because something unbelievable happened in the NextPit office: The NextPit office, just 3 weeks ago at 9 o'clock in the morning: As on many mornings, I'm sitting punctually at my desk, from which the office door can be perfectly observed. As so often, my gaze darts right there when the Nuki Smart Lock starts to turn the key that morning. But what was completely unusual was that the door was not directly pushed open by a hasty NextPit co-worker. Instead, it opened just a small crack. Through it, heavy smoke suddenly entered the room. Lights flashed behind the door, penetrating the office like laser beams as the wooden door opened wider inch by inch. While I vigorously pinched my own arm to check my own state of alertness, a figure about six feet tall made its way into the NextPit HQ. My startled gaze lingered on a face that slowly emerged from the smoke—and was actually quite familiar to me. I knew one half of the face from movies and television—it was the metallic structure of the T-800. Yes, the one that you'd usually see under Arnold Schwarzenegger's skin. But to my amazement, half organic, half elastic, the skin of my colleague Stefans lay over the chrome skeleton. His head turned toward me in such an abrupt movement that the computer mouse almost fell out of my incredulous hand. In a deep, penetrating voice he said to me: "I'll be ... right there! Sorry, Berlin traffic was horrible again." Even though I have (possibly!) added a few fictional pinches of salt to this story, Stefan actually turned into a cyborg a few weeks ago. Because that's what the company "Ultrahuman" calls its customers, who are supposed to stick blood glucose monitors into their upper arms to quantify their own bodily functions. Sounds insane at first, but according to Stefan's test report, it's also insanely ingenious! You can read more about it in his top news of the week - or you can watch the whole thing as a video!
