Plus, the top publishers on LinkedIn [View this email in your browser]( UAW reaches tentative deal with major automakers It’s been a year of labor action, and we’ve covered deals being made numerous times in the newsletter already, from the writers strike to increased minimum wages. This time, it’s the UAW’s turn, after the group reached tentative deals with America’s big auto manufacturers at various points in the last week. This caused multiple spikes in coverage, with the Ford deal and subsequent Stellantis and GM agreements causing a huge increase in coverage of the contracts and deals being reached. There have been more than 10,000 articles written about UAW striking deals in the last week, and almost a quarter of a million engagements with those articles. The top article was on October 27 about [Stellantis and GM]( matching Ford’s offer, which had been made a few days before. Interestingly, much of the top coverage was from local Detroit and Michigan sources, again showing the power of regional media in topics such as this. As ever, there was also significant engagement around social media. President Biden [applauded the Stellantis deal]( on X, while the AFL-CIO had a [highly engaged TikTok]( announcing the tentative agreement with Ford. The publishers driving the most engagement on LinkedIn More and more publishers and journalists have been gravitating to LinkedIn this year, and it’s been reported that LinkedIn has emerged as the most popular alternative platform for media leaders. For that reason, we looked at who the top publishers are on the platform based on engagements to their link posts. At first glance, it’s clear that Harvard Business Review has won out amongst all the rest, earning nearly 93k engagements to its link posts, which is over 5x the amount that Fortune received, even though it took the second spot. Rounding out the rest of the top ten was a mix of mainstream news publishers, as well as a few niche specific websites such as Neuroscience News and American Banker.
