The top stories of the week Using our [NewsWhip Spike]( platform, we ranked the stories that drove the most Facebook engagements this week. There was one clear top story for this week, and that was the death of 90210 actor Luke Perry from a stroke at the age of 52. Some version of the story accounted for more than half of the top fifteen stories last week, three of which received over a million engagements, and TMZ's story was the most engaged of the year so far with more than 3.5 million. There was another celebrity death this week; Keith Flint, the lead singer of Prodigy also passed away aged 49, with stories in the BBC and The Guardian driving significant engagement. Two stories that broke the mold of this sad news that dominated the headlines were the return of the movie 'Sandlot' and HIV being cured in a second patient, both of which drove nearly a million engagements.
