For better or worse, in 2022, we as a civilization are more connected than ever before.  Most of us already have a social media account in some form, whether you share posts yourself or follow along with the journeys of friends or famous strangers.  No matter what your current relationship is with these applications and how frequently (or infrequently) you post, here are some of the many benefits of establishing a presence on social media:  Alter Your Potentially Negative Mindset About Social Media  Most people are addicted to their phones, finding themselves reaching for the screen after only a few seconds without stimulation.  Committing to creating a social media presence can help you reframe your mindset about these social apps to more of a business tool than a mindless distraction, which can be an extremely valuable skill in today’s society where many of us are literally earning arthritic thumbs and hunchbacks due to our time spent scrolling.  Connect With Like-Minded Individuals  Consistent posting on social media is a great strategy to network with people with similar interests to your own. This is especially true when you choose a “niche,” such as health and wellness, crypto, sports, reading, cooking, or anything else you can possibly think of.  The best part about humanity is that no matter how unique our interests may seem, there are always others out there who have similar passions to us – and posting on social media is a great way to find these new friends, leads, and business opportunities from across the world.  Practice Discipline In Your Routine  Whether you plan on upping your social media game with hopes of becoming famous or if you are merely looking for something to do, posting consistently requires discipline – and this can be an excellent motivator in itself.  Are you the type of person who struggles to get things done?  If so, holding yourself accountable to the challenge of posting regularly on social media can encourage a sense of discipline that you can apply to all areas of your life.  Help You Establish Thicker Skin  There are many internet trolls and keyboard warriors out there who love nothing more than to emit hate comments from the comfort of their couch, and if you develop a social media presence, it is only a matter of time until you receive your first hate comment too.  Although this inevitability can bring you down or make you feel deterred, overcoming this fear will provide you with the confidence to try new things and step out of your comfort zone unlike ever before.  Generate New Income Opportunities  Although for most of us posting on social media is a way to connect with friends and family we meet throughout our lives, we have all noticed that the really successful “content creators” can actually earn a living through posting photos and videos consistently.  Although it is a fun form of expression, there are also many ways to monetize your social media platforms, whether through brand deals or through the platform directly, which is an excellent perk of creating a social media presence. Every person is unique and has something new to offer, and there is always room for your perspective – no matter how saturated an industry may seem.  You may think as a small creator it is too late to start, but as social media and “influencing” becomes more popular, the demand for new creators will continue to increase.  No matter what you think about social media right now and what it is doing (and not doing) to our civilization, it’s here to stay.  Whether you are introverted or extroverted, everyone can benefit from posting regularly on social media and sharing your take on the world. If you start now, you never know what opportunities you may discover on your personal development journey!  KantanKen - - - - - - - 78 George St #204, Ottawa, ON K1N 5W1 This email was triggered from you joining our list.
