[Shop all Type Through the Eras Deals]( [Optima®]( Optima® by Linotype Many typefaces are distinctive or attractive at the expense of legibility and versatility, but not with the Optima® family. Simultaneously standing out and fitting in, there are few projects or imaging environments outside of its range. Although Optima is almost always grouped with sans serif typefaces, it should be considered a serifless roman. True to its Roman heritage, Optima has wide, full-bodied characters – especially in the capitals. Only the E, F and L deviate with narrow forms. Consistent with other Zapf designs, the cap S in Optima appears slightly top-heavy with a slight tilt to the right. The M is splayed, and the N, like a serif design, has light vertical strokes. The lowercase a and g in Optima are high-legibility two-storied designs. 12 fonts for $199 $99.50 [Hunt for perfect, Shop Optima®]( [Scratch That]( Scratch That by Matthias Luh Scratch That is a decorative font available in 16 different styles. Its simplicity and unusual shapes derive from the difficult and demanding art of punchcutting. In fact, it may be the only typeface designed by actually cutting the punches, Koch made no preliminary drawings. Designed and released by the Klingspor foundry in 1923, Neuland became enormously popular as an advertising typeface. It is a sans serif, all-capital design with angular features, obliqued strokes and a slight concavity to some of the vertical strokes. Used with restraint, it can lend power and persuasion to display work, as it did when forming the basis for titles appearing in the film Jurassic Park. 1 font for $29 $14.50 [Enter at your own risk, Shop Neuland®]( [Balloon]( Balloon by URW Type Foundry Designed by Max R. Kaufmann, URW Balloon is a brush display and display sans font family. This typeface has eight styles and was published by URW Type Foundry. Both Letraset and Mecanorma added a Drop Shadow style. PL Latin Elongated was designed by David Quay and released in 1988. It can be used as a headline in narrow columns. In 1977, Matthew Carter expanded this historic form into a three part series. 4 fonts for $151 $75.50 [Don't waste time, Shop Cochin®]( [Caslon Classico™]( Caslon Classico™ by Linotype The Englishman William Caslon (1672-1766) first cut his typeface Caslon in 1725. His major influences were the Dutch designers Christoffel van Dijcks and Dirck Voskens. The Caslon font was long known as the script of kings, although on the other side of the political spectrum, the Americans used it as well for their Declaration of Independence. The characteristics of the earlier Renaissance typefaces are only barely detectable. The serifs are finer and the axis of the curvature is almost or completely vertical. The overall impression which Caslon makes is serious, elegant and linear. Next to Baskerville, Caslon is known as the embodiment of the English Baroque-Antiqua and has gone through numerous new interpretations, meaning that every Caslon is slightly different. Caslon Classico appeared in 1993 and was designed by Franco Luin, the designer of various interpretations of classic typefaces. Luin kept his design true to the original and Caslon Classico consists of two cuts with corresponding italic and small caps characters. 5 fonts for $99 $49.50 [Create magic, Shop Caslon Classico™]( [Friz Quadrata™]( Friz Quadrata™ by ITC Friz Quadrata font is the work of a number of collaborators. The first weight was created by Swiss designer Ernst Friz and made its first international appearance with the design release of Visual Graphics Corporations. ITC then arranged with VGC so that Victor Caruso could add a bold weight to the original. Finally, in 1992, French designer Thierry Puyfoulhoux designed italic weights for both the original and bold weights. 4 fonts for $151 $75.50 [Stand strong, Shop Friz Quadrata™]( [Shlop™]( Shlop™ [Shop Here]( by Typodermic 1 font for FREE [Gill Sans® Nova]( Gill Sans® Nova [Shop Here]( by Monotype 43 fonts for $399 $199.50 [Molly Sans]( Molly Sans [Shop Here]( by Mans Greback 25 fonts for $59 $29.50 [Neue Aachen™]( Neue Aachen™ [Shop Here]( by ITC 18 fonts for $526 $263 [Placard Next®]( Placard Next® [Shop Here]( by Monotype 48 fonts for $299 $149.50 [Stencil™]( Stencil™ [Shop Here]( by URW Type Foundry 7 fonts for $49 $24.50 [Nightmare Street]( Nightmare Street by Wing's Art Studio' Take a midnight stroll if you dare through the shadowy terrace of terror, in Nightmare Street! Morris Fuller Benton drew the original design in 1902 for American Type Founders (ATF); it was the first significant modernization of a nineteenth-century grotesque. Named in honor of Benjamin Franklin, the design not only became a best seller, it also served as a model for several other sans serif typefaces that followed it. 48 fonts for $3,011 $1,505.50 [Rags to riches, Shop ITC Franklin™]( [Square Slabserif 711™]( Square Slabserif 711™ by Bitstream A contemporary revival of early 20th century fonts, the Square Slabserif 711™ typeface family from the Bitstream library is perfect for contemporary print and interactive design projects.
