[MTGGoldfish][Magic Newsletter] [width="1"] --------------------------------------------------------------- The Magic: the Gathering Iceberg Explained --------------------------------------------------------------- How many of these increasingly obscure Magic references do you know? Give it your best shot and then listen to Saffron explain them all![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- We Have a Patreon! --------------------------------------------------------------- We now have a Patreon, featuring some fun non-MTG content for our long time fans.[Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Finance Update w/ Saffron Olive --------------------------------------------------------------- [Trapjaw Tyrant](of+Ixalan/Trapjaw+Tyrant#paper) [The One Ring](Lord+of+the+Rings+Tales+of+Middle+Earth/The+One+Ring#paper) [Kutzil's Flanker](Caverns+of+Ixalan/Kutzils+Flanker#paper) This week in the world of Magic finance, the big news is people upgrading and building Lost Caverns of Ixalan-based Commander decks. The biggest gainer of the week was [Trapjaw Tyrant](of+Ixalan/Trapjaw+Tyrant#paper) which nearly doubled in price to $25. Just a month ago it was around $6. The mythic is one of the Dinosaurs that managed to dodge a reprinting in Lost Caverns of Ixalan and seems to be a popular addition to various Dinosaur Commander decks. Other Dinosaurs like [[Polyraptor] ()up 31% to $35) and [Silverclad Ferocidons (planeswalker stamp)](of+Ixalan/Silverclad+Ferocidons-planeswalker+stamp#paper) (up 24% to $6) are creeping up as well. All and all it seems like Dinosaurs in general are the biggest winners from Lost Caverns of Ixalan. Meanwhile in Modern, it seems like the holiday edition of Lord of the Rings is having some impact on prices with cards like [The One Ring (bundle)](Lord+of+the+Rings+Tales+of+Middle+Earth:Foil/The+One+Ring-bundle#paper) and [Orcish Bowmasters](Lord+of+the+Rings+Tales+of+Middle+Earth/Orcish+Bowmasters#paper) dropping a few% this week. While reprinting chase cards so quickly has been controversial, it does seem to be making these cards more accessible, which is a good thing. Finally, keep an eye on Cats over the next couple of weeks. If you look at Lost Caverns of Ixalan itself, three cards jumped more than 100% this week and two are Cats in [Kutzil's Flanker](Caverns+of+Ixalan/Kutzils+Flanker#paper) and [Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar (showcase)](Caverns+of+Ixalan/Kutzil+Malamet+Exemplar-showcase#paper). In Commander Cats have a bit of a cult following, being way more popular than you'd expect considering their low power level. With [Sovereign Okinec Ahau](Caverns+of+Ixalan/Sovereign+Okinec+Ahau#paper) giving them a new commander, it wouldn't be a surprise to see some older Cats start to tick up as players once again start putting together and updating their Commander Cat decks. --------------------------------------------------------------- Podcast 458: The Most Exciting Cards from Lost Caverns of Ixalan --------------------------------------------------------------- Seth and Richard discuss their top Lost Caverns of Ixalan cards for various 60 card constructed formats![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Commander Clash Podcast 120: We React to Reddit's New Underrated Cards --------------------------------------------------------------- Let's see if Reddit can unearth some new hidden gems for us![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Single Scoop: No Ban Blue Moon --------------------------------------------------------------- Blue Moon was once a popular deck but thanks to the No bans event, we get to use Blood Moon and Spreading Seas![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- This Week in Legacy: Deep Dwellin' --------------------------------------------------------------- Joe Dyer continues looking at Ixalan cards and also Jurassic Park cards![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Against the Odds: Infinite Minotaur Assault --------------------------------------------------------------- What are the odds of going infinite with Aggravated Assault and Minotaurs?
