[MTGGoldfish][Magic Newsletter] [width="1"] --------------------------------------------------------------- The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-Earth Previews --------------------------------------------------------------- Lord+of+the+Rings+Tales+of+Middle+Earth/Gandalf+the+White#paper Lord+of+the+Rings+Tales+of+Middle+Earth/Aragorn+the+Uniter#paper Lord+of+the+Rings+Tales+of+Middle+Earth/Forge+Anew#paper Lord+of+the+Rings+Tales+of+Middle+Earth/Doors+of+Durin#paper Lord+of+the+Rings+Tales+of+Middle+Earth/Stern+Scolding#paper Lord+of+the+Rings+Tales+of+Middle+Earth/Orcish+Bowmasters#paper Lord of the Rings previews are officially underway! Remember that this set is Modern legal, even though the focus seems to be on Commander. There are both regular main set cards (LTR) and Commander cards (LTC) to look out for. Be sure to check out all the previews at www.mtgpreviews.com: - [The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-Earth Spoilers — May 30 | Gandalf the White, Aragorn, the Uniter]( - [The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-Earth Spoilers — May 31 | Doors of Durin, Fall of Gil-galad]( - [The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-Earth Spoilers — June 1 | Copy the Stack]( - [The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-Earth Spoilers — June 2 | An Actual Modern Card?!]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Banned and Restricted Update, May 29, 2023: Fable, Invoke, Bankbuster Banned --------------------------------------------------------------- Big bannings in Standard![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Budget Magic: Boros Convoke (Pioneer) --------------------------------------------------------------- 2524100%2BBoros%2BConvoke-0c5ca058-ee50-45fc-87a2-20bc0669ed23%2Ejpg Is a $100 version (well, $100 before Invasion of Gobakhan was bought out) of Boros Convoke the best deck in Pioneer? Is Hogaak back but Boros this time? Let's find out![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Finance Update w/ Saffron Olive --------------------------------------------------------------- [All Will Be One](Will+Be+One/All+Will+Be+One#paper) [Fable of the Mirror-Breaker](Neon+Dynasty/Fable+of+the+Mirror-Breaker#paper) [The One Ring](Lord+of+the+Rings+Tales+of+Middle+Earth/The+One+Ring-serialized+-+One+of+One#paper) This week was a quite one in the world of Magic finance with even the biggest winners only gaining 15% or 20%. Leading the way in Standard is [All Will Be One](Will+Be+One/All+Will+Be+One#paper) which rose 16% to just over $18. The enchantment has been a huge topic of conversation recently thanks to its combo with [Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin](of+the+Machine+Aftermath/Ob+Nixilis+Captive+Kingpin#paper). While the infinite damage loop has yet to take off in 60 card formats, [All Will Be One](Will+Be+One/All+Will+Be+One#paper) is a staple in Ob Nixilis Commander decks. It seems likely that Commander players snapping up copies to complete their Ob Nixilis brews is behind this week's price increase. Keep an eye on Standard. With [Invoke Despair (bundle)](Neon+Dynasty:Foil/Invoke+Despair-bundle#paper) banned, decks built around expensive enchantments that need to sit out on the battlefield are looking a lot better. If the combo ever takes off, the sky is the limit for [All Will Be One](Will+Be+One/All+Will+Be+One#paper). Speaking of the recent Standard bannings, so far they haven't really had a huge impact on card prices. [Reckoner Bankbuster](Neon+Dynasty/Reckoner+Bankbuster#paper) has dropped from $4.30 to $3.80, [Invoke Despair (bundle)](Neon+Dynasty:Foil/Invoke+Despair-bundle#paper) is down from $1.80 to $1.20 and [Fable of the Mirror-Breaker](Neon+Dynasty/Fable+of+the+Mirror-Breaker#paper) sitting at $21 after being as high as $25. Of course, bannings are more painful to players than just the loss of value from the banned cards: if you had built Standard Rakdos or Grixis, your deck is a lot worse today than it was a week ago. But in terms of dollars and cents, the banned cards themselves haven't really fallen that much. If [Fable of the Mirror-Breaker](Neon+Dynasty/Fable+of+the+Mirror-Breaker#paper) keeps declining to the $15 range, it might actually be wise to start buying copies. It's currently the second most-played card in Pioneer behind [Thoughtseize](, showing up as a four-of in 37% of decks and is the 12th most-played card in Modern, in 22% of decks. While there might be some risk of a Pioneer banning in the future, assuming the card stays legal, it seems likely that this eternal demand will have the price back up near or even above where it was before the card was banned in Standard. Finally, we're right in the middle of Lord of the Rings spoilers, and offers keep rolling in on the 1 of 1 [The One Ring (extended)](Lord+of+the+Rings+Tales+of+Middle+Earth/The+One+Ring-extended#paper). The most recent I've seen is $150,000, although the Magic internet is abuzz with rumors of even higher offers, although typically without hard evidence. Personally, if I opened [The One Ring (extended)](Lord+of+the+Rings+Tales+of+Middle+Earth/The+One+Ring-extended#paper), I wouldn't take any of the current offers. If someone is offering $100,000 or $150,000 they likely think the card itself is actually worth significantly more and are trying to get a deal by avoiding a competitive bidding process. While a guaranteed $150,000 is nice, I'd lean towards putting the card up for auction and letting all these rich Magic collectors compete against each other for the power of the ring. Not only is it likely to make you the most money, but based on my little knowledge of Lord of the Rings lore, it seems like a flavor win as well. --------------------------------------------------------------- Weekly Update (May 28): The Worst Cards Ever Banned --------------------------------------------------------------- This week in MTG news: The Worst Cards Ever Banned.[Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Podcast 435: Fable Free Standard! --------------------------------------------------------------- With Richard away Crim and Seth discuss Standard bannings, Arena coming to Steam, the impending Lord of the Rings preview season and answ...[Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Commander Clash Podcast 097: Secret Tech Cards You Should Be Playing --------------------------------------------------------------- The crew shares their favorite secret tech cards in Commander![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Single Scoop: Nahiri Equipments (Explorer) --------------------------------------------------------------- Nahiri is the new hotness when it comes to equipment, time attack the ladder with a bunch of hammers and beatsticks![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- This Week in Legacy: Wheeling and Dealing --------------------------------------------------------------- Joe Dyer dives into a sweet and spicy new deck floating about![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Against the Odds: The Saltiest Deck Possible (Historic Brawl) --------------------------------------------------------------- People usually play Historic Brawl for fun. Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
