--------------------------------------------------------------- Budget Magic: Eldrazi Spirits ------

[width="1"] [MTGGoldfish][Magic Newsletter] --------------------------------------------------------------- Arena's Economy Is a Mess, Especially for Supplemental Products like Kaladesh Remastered --------------------------------------------------------------- Despite its free-to-play option, Arena has proven itself to be—by far—the most expensive way to play Magic, and doubly so when it comes to Historic-focused supplemental products like Kaladesh Remastered.[Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Budget Magic: Eldrazi Spirits (Modern) --------------------------------------------------------------- 2BSpirits-eed7c20b-d41b-4d11-9191-b6feb66d57e8%2Ejpg Beating opponents down with Spirits is so 2018 Modern, but what if we can turn our Spirits into massive, annihilating Eldrazi with the help of Tallowisp, Arcanum Wings, and Eldrazi Conscription?[Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Finance Update w/ Saffron Olive --------------------------------------------------------------- [Jeweled Lotus](Legends/Jeweled+Lotus#paper) [Mindbreak Trap](Trap#paper) [Opposition Agent](Legends/Opposition+Agent#paper) This week, the biggest financial news is the release of Commander Legends. In general, the price of cards in the set are heading down. In fact, just a week ago a complete non-foil set of Commander Legends would cost you $810. Today it's just $453, which means the set lost almost 50% of its value in just seven days. Normally it takes at least a couple of weeks after a set release for prices to hit their floor, so it's likely the trend will continue for a little while longer as the set is opened, but don't wait too long to pick up the singles you need. Commander cards tend to recover faster than most thanks to the popularity of the format and high demand for Commander cards. Meanwhile, Zendikar mythic [Mindbreak Trap](em>Zendikar/Mindbreak+Trap#paper) increased 24% on the week to $12.50. While the instant doesn't see much play in Modern, it is a popular answer to storm-style combo decks in formats like Vintage or Legacy. While it might not seem like it, it has been 10 years since Zendikar released and [Mindbreak Trap](em>Zendikar/Mindbreak+Trap#paper) has never been reprinted, which explains why it is slowly increasing in price: there is a 2010 level of supply for a 2020-sized player base. It wouldn't be a surprise to see [Mindbreak Trap](em>Zendikar/Mindbreak+Trap#paper) continue to creep up in price until it's eventually reprinted, although the more expensive it gets, the more likely it is to show up in a future supplemental product. Finally, Commander Legends also released on Magic Online this week, and the two cards most likely to see heavy Legacy and Vintage play - [Opposition Agent](Legends/Opposition+Agent#paper) and [Hullbreacher](Legends/Hullbreacher#paper) - are already quite pricey, with [Opposition Agent](Legends/Opposition+Agent#paper) nearly $60 and [Hullbreacher](Legends/Hullbreacher#paper) almost $50. It wouldn't be that surprising to see both of these cards continue to rise. Commander Legends drafts are extremely slow and grindy, with it potentially taking 10 or more hours to finish a single three-round event. As a result, it's likely that there will be fewer copies of Commander Legends cards available than a more traditional set since players can't chain together multiple drafts in a short period of time. It will also be worth keeping an eye on potential Pauper all-stars like [Fall from Favor](Legends/Fall+from+Favor#paper) and [Azure Fleet Admiral](Legends/Azure+Fleet+Admiral#paper). While being common will help increase supply, both could end up costing a few tix in a year or two if they become heavily-played in the Pauper format. --------------------------------------------------------------- PleasantKenobi Visits the Fishbowl --------------------------------------------------------------- Crim interviews the 2nd best beard in the game (Crim's beard is #1) at the Fishbowl Offices![Read more]( The Fish Tank: Sweet and Spicy User Decks (November 7-13 2020) Single Scoop: Indomitable Red (Historic, Magic Arena) What sweet decks did users submit this week?
