[width="1"] [MTGGoldfish][Magic Newsletter] --------------------------------------------------------------- Commander 2019 Previews --------------------------------------------------------------- 2019/Anje+Falkenrath#paper2019/Ghired+Conclave+Exile#paper2019/Kadena+Slinking+Sorcerer#paper2019/Sevinne+the+Chronoclasm#paper2019/Gerrard+Weatherlight+Hero#paper2019/Krrik+Son+of+Yawgmoth#paper Commander 2019 preview season kicked off this weekend at Gencon, with the four face-cards of the Commander 2019 decks being revealed. The entirety of the new set will be previewed this week, with one full decklist being revealed each day. Check out [mtgpreviews.com]() for all the latest cards, and check out the important highlights of the set directly from SaffronOlive: - [Commander 2019 Spoilers — August 1, 2019 | The Four Commanders]( - [Commander 2019 Spoilers — August 2, 2019 | K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Budget Magic: $99 (13 tix) Hammer Time (Modern, Magic Online) --------------------------------------------------------------- 2BTime-96a541e2-5644-446e-a8ef-6deb853dff7b%2Ejpg Can our opponents touch our Turn 2 kill combo in Modern? No, they can't. School's in. Let's Colossus Hammer some suckers![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Finance Update w/ Saffron Olive --------------------------------------------------------------- [Knucklebone Witch](Witch#paper)[Ixidor, Reality Sculptor](Reality+Sculptor#paper)[Magnetic Theft](Dawn/Magnetic+Theft#paper) This week, most of the big finance news is tied to Modern. Leading the way is [Knucklebone Witch](Witch#paper) (up 278% to $7), which showed up at Mythic Championship IV in Goblin Tribal. The odd part of the price movement is that [Knucklebone Witch](Witch#paper) was just a one-of and only in one of the two Goblins decks to show up at the event. While perhaps it will become more important to the tribe moving forward, a better bet is that it remains on the fringe. If you have copies, you might as well try to sell or trade them into the hype. On the other hand, [Auntie's Hovel](Hovel#paper) has continued it's slow and steady climb, increasing another 14% on the week to just under $30. Unlike [Knucklebone Witch](Witch#paper), the land is the foundation for basically all Goblin decks in Modern, and the tribe is on the rise with support from Core Set 2020 and Modern Horizons. While a future reprint is a concern, if the deck ever truly breaks out in the paper world, [Auntie's Hovel](Hovel#paper) could spike again. It's probably worth holding at this point, with no likely reprint homes in the next several months. Meanwhile, we started Commander 2019 spoiler season a couple of days ago at Gencon, which means a lot of casually-focused priced movement will likely happen over the next couple of weeks. So far the biggest Commander-centric gainer is [Ixidor, Reality Sculptor](Reality+Sculptor#paper) (up 367% to over $10), which piggybacks on the morph theme of one of the Commander 2019 decks, but more increases are sure to follow as we move through the next week of spoilers. As the new Commander cards come out, if you find one you know you want to build around (or a precon you'd like to upgrade), try to pick up the pieces you need as soon as possible: there are likely hundreds or even thousands of other Commander players thinking the same thing, and if they pick up their upgrade pieces and support cards first, you'll be left paying more for yours. Finally, [Magnetic Theft](Dawn/Magnetic+Theft#paper) jumped 38% on the week to $8.40. The instant is an important combo piece for decks looking to equip a [Colossus Hammer](Set+2020/Colossus+Hammer#paper) to a cheap, doublestriking or infect creature as quickly as possible. With good draws a turn two kill is very possible, but the deck is still in its infancy. If it develops into a legitimate Modern archetype, the price of the Fifth Dawn uncommon could double, but it's also possible it never finds its competitive footing and remains a casual favorite. --------------------------------------------------------------- Budget Commander: Kykar, Wind's Fury | $30, $60, $90 --------------------------------------------------------------- Tokens!
