Skip the next paragraph if you are trying to avoid leaks. This week, the biggest piece of finance news came in the form a leak of the buy a box promo from Modern Horizons: [Flusterstorm](Masters/Flusterstorm#paper). The one-mana counter has long been a staple in Legacy and will be making its first appearance in Modern, which lead to previous printings (both Iconic Masters and Commander) being bought out, doubling the price of [Flusterstorm](Masters/Flusterstorm#paper) to $32 and $45 respectively. While it might seem strange for a reprinted card to increase so much in price, here it's important to remember that [Flusterstorm](Masters/Flusterstorm#paper) has relatively low supply (has never been printed in a full supply Standard set) and won't be in Modern Horizons proper since it's a buy a box promo. It wouldn't be surprising to see prices tick down as the buy a box supply hits the market, but considering that a foil [Flusterstorm](Masters/Flusterstorm#paper) is currently $70 (and the promos are foil with new art), [Flusterstorm](Masters/Flusterstorm#paper) is a huge incentive to pick up a Modern Horizons box early from your local game store. In existing Modern, the big winner this week was [Pillar of the Paruns](of+the+Paruns#paper) (up 173% to $15). The multi-color land is a four of in a new [Niv-Mizzet Reborn](of+the+Spark/Niv-Mizzet+Reborn#paper) deck in Modern. Whether or not the [Niv-Mizzet Reborn](of+the+Spark/Niv-Mizzet+Reborn#paper) deck ends up being a real deck in Modern, [Pillar of the Paruns](of+the+Paruns#paper) is the type of card that gets better set by set as more multi-color cards are printed, so sooner or later it seems likely to find a real home. This said, it's also fairly reprintable, so unless you're playing Niv to Light or are in it for the long haul, trading away or selling into the spike seems like a solid plan. Finally, in Standard we have two emerging three-drops at the top of our list this week in [Legion Warboss](of+Ravnica/Legion+Warboss#paper) (up 63% to $6.60) and [Thief of Sanity](of+Ravnica/Thief+of+Sanity#paper) (up 27% to $7.74). Both cards already see heavy play in Standard and both have the potential to see even more play after rotation. It wouldn't be a surprise to see these cards peak even higher next winter. If you don't already have a playset for Standard, it might be worth picking them up over the summer.
