The biggest gainer this week was [Ob Nixilis, the Adversary](of+New+Capenna:Foil/Ob+Nixilis+the+Adversary#paper), which gained 179% to $11.50. After being super hyped when it was first spoiled in Street of New Capenna, the sacrifice outlet planeswalker mostly fell flat. It turns out that [Ajani, Nacatl Pariah](Horizons+3/Ajani+Nacatl+Pariah#paper) curves really well into Ob Nixilis since you can sacrifice the Cat token it makes to not only copy [Ob Nixilis, the Adversary](of+New+Capenna:Foil/Ob+Nixilis+the+Adversary#paper), but also flip [Ajani, Nacatl Pariah](Horizons+3/Ajani+Nacatl+Pariah#paper). Considering that Ob Nixilis is now three years old and has yet to be reprinted, the planeswalker could continue to rise assuming it sticks in Modern. Speaking of Modern Horizons 3, [Ocelot Pride](Horizons+3/Ocelot+Pride#paper) is the new hotness from the set. The one-drop gained 145% this week to $54 as it continues to increase in play in everything from Energy decks to Domain Zoo and even some Scam builds. The scary part is that [Ocelot Pride](Horizons+3/Ocelot+Pride#paper) is still just scratching the surface of its potential, currently in about 7% of Modern decks. The best comparison here might be [Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer](Legends/Ragavan+Nimble+Pilferer#paper), which was in more than 30% of Modern decks after Modern Horizons 2 released and settled at around $80 before being reprinted. If [Ocelot Pride](Horizons+3/Ocelot+Pride#paper)'s play rate continues to rise as people realize its power, trending up towards $80 isn't out of the question. Finally, [Spell Snare](Snare#paper) doubled up in price this week to between $5 and $10 depending on the printing (the cheapest version is currently The List reprinting, although there are very few The List copies on the market). The one mana counter for two-drops had fallen out of favor in Modern in recent years after being a staple a decade ago, but currently 40% of the top ten creatures in Modern are two-drops as cards like [Drannith Magistrate (planeswalker stamp)](Lair+of+Behemoths/Drannith+Magistrate-planeswalker+stamp#paper), [Orcish Bowmasters](Lord+of+the+Rings+Tales+of+Middle+Earth/Orcish+Bowmasters#paper), [Amped Raptor](Horizons+3/Amped+Raptor#paper), and [Ajani, Nacatl Pariah](Horizons+3/Ajani+Nacatl+Pariah#paper) see heavy play. Toss in answering [Counterspell (borderless)](Masters/Counterspell-borderless#paper), [Dress Down (showcase)](Horizons+2/Dress+Down-showcase#paper) and other popular non-creature spells, and [Spell Snare](Snare#paper) is back, currently in the top 25 of the most-played noncreatures in the Modern format. The card is super easy to reprint, so this spike will likely be short lived, but for now [Spell Snare](Snare#paper) is more than worth pulling from your bulk. --------------------------------------------------------------- Podcast 493: Will Sunspine Lynx Be Banned? --------------------------------------------------------------- The crew talks Bloomburrow and a ton of new spoilers![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Commander Clash Podcast 156: The Best Reasons for Running Basic Lands --------------------------------------------------------------- Here are some good reasons to play basics and some great basic land payoffs![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Single Scoop: Why Is It So Difficult to Get Kudo and Elesh Norn together? --------------------------------------------------------------- Kudo and Elesh Norn are definitely a win more but can we get them together to shut off all our opponent's creatures?[Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- This Week in Legacy: Eldrazi Days --------------------------------------------------------------- Joe Dyer talks about some Eldrazi adjacent decks in Legacy![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Vintage 101: Happy Frog --------------------------------------------------------------- Joe Dyer takes a look at Psychic Frog lists in Vintage![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Against the Odds: Trolling Arena Zoomers with Stax (Timeless) --------------------------------------------------------------- Best-of-one Timeless is full of Scam decks and degenerate graveyard brews, making it the perfect time to stax some opponents out of the game![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Single Scoop: Artifacts Look Scary Post Rotation --------------------------------------------------------------- We're going to play Jeskai Artifacts as the deck's core pieces will still be around post rotation![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- The Power of Pauper: Cute and Fuzzy! --------------------------------------------------------------- Joe Dyer begins diving into the world of Bloomburrow for Pauper![Read more]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Green Decks go Brrr... and an Izzet Deck | Commander Clash S16 E27 --------------------------------------------------------------- What does the crew bring to battle when there's no deckbuilding restrictions?
