(Nasdaq: MRNA) Moderna is up 0.54% premarket after a decline of more than 9% the previous day. Pfizer’s chief financial officer predicted weaker demand for Covid shots this year, and Moderna was the worst performer in the S&P 500. Co-founder and board chairman Noubar Afeyan also sold 15,000 of his shares for approximately $1.64 million, according to a securities and exchange commission filing. Nio Inc. (NYSE: NIO) Nio is down 5.63% premarket after the electric vehicle maker announced it plans to raise $1 billion by issuing convertible senior notes to pare debt and boost its balance sheet. The 2029 notes will mature on October 15, 2029 and the 2030 notes will mature on October 15, 2030, unless repurchased. U.S. energy generation from renewables other than hydropower is expected to increase by 22 billion kWh in 2023 (up 4%) and 91 billion kwH in 2024 (up 14%). The steel producer said the guidance reflects the anticipated impact of the strike of the United Auto workers. It said in a statement that the rocket successfully completed a first stage burn and stage separation as planned, but then encountered an issue that was experienced at around T + 2 minutes and 30 seconds into flight, resulting in the end of the mission."
