Hi {NAME} Welcome to Friday Flywheel, my email to get your MSP's marketing wheel turning and then make it go faster and faster and faster... Paul's musings: In MSP marketing, context is everything My 13 year old daughter has an annoying habit of hitting me with a piece of information without any context to help me understand it. "Carrie's in Cambridge," she'll say as we're driving along. Who is Carrie? Why is she in Cambridge? And why do I care? I won't bother explaining to you as it doesn't matter. But the point is she is pushing the mental burden of processing the information onto me. I have to ask questions to understand. As she's my daughter, I will accept that, albeit grudingly. But in a marketing context I wouldn't. Imagine you were good at supporting lawyers and wanted to target more with your marketing. You'd have to set really clear context to attract their attention. Which of these headlines do you think would work best? IT support for lawyers vs Your technology just works. So you can spend more time chasing ambulances, and less time swearing at your computer Both send the same message. But the second one applies valuable context. You're not just an IT support service for lawyers... you also understand the bigger picture of what's important to them. And know that when you do a great job, it let's them do a great job too. That's context. It needs to go across all of your marketing. PS if you do target lawyers, the ambulance chasing line was meant as a joke. Don't actually use it! From the web: The ugly truth about Net Promoter Surveys Two reasons to show you this. First is I've never liked NPS surveys and these guys have captured why. Secondly, I ADORE their approach to marketing and the way they [present their case studies]( From my archive: The inside story of a major business transformation project Not much of an archive piece as I only published this on LinkedIn yesterday. But if you like reading about the pain and torment my team and I went through to reinvent our core business, [this is a story you will love]( If you're not happy with your MSP's marketing, give us 15 mins to open your eyes There are 4 big marketing problems which stop all MSPs from generating leads. You can blast them away with my simple but powerful 3 step system that gets you new appointments. My colleague Ben Smith will show you the 3 step system we've built inside the MSP Marketing Edge, and how it's the answer to all your marketing problems. No obligation to buy anything, ever. It's a friendly tour not a sales pitch. [Here's his live calendar]( Hit reply with any questions - I reply to every email I get - and have a great weekend.
