The agreement, which will still need to run the gauntlet of congressional approval, would avoid the calamity of a federal default. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen set a hard deadline of June 5 for lawmakers to act, after which the U.S. could run out of money to pay its bills. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced his highly-anticipated presidential bid on Wednesday during a chat on Twitter Spaces, which was widely mocked after encountering screeching audio feedback and technical issues. Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes was sentenced to 18 years in federal prison for seditious conspiracy, the longest sentence imposed on a Jan. 6 defendant to date. New reporting from the Washington Post suggests that Trump and his aides allegedly practiced moving classified documents prior to the FBI's arrival at Mar-a-Lago last year, adding more concerns to Trump's already perilous legal situation.
