Her critics claimed that Omar had put American and Israeli actions on the same level as the Taliban and Hamas, all but ["giving cover" to terrorist actions.]( That couldn't be further from the truth, Hayes Brown writes. What Omar "said and tweeted was basically the opposite of the 'whataboutism' that seeks to absolve one side from blame by pointing out the other's flaws," Brown writes.
