Biden can no longer stay silent about the American Genocide

The Oscars stage may look a little different this year. Rather than the iconic stairs that nominees have climbed for years to receive their awards, this time around there will be a ramp in place. Turkey's president once suggested that, in reciprocity, his country would then officially recognize the United States's genocide of its Native population. But honestly, that's not a bad idea, Hayes Brown writes, given the crimes against humanity happening around the world to this day. "The U.S. government’s treatment of Native Americans is a shameful moment in America’s history, one that we need to address more openly if we’re ever to move forward with any moral weight in the world," Brown writes. "There needs to be an equivalent reckoning with America’s own sins as we speak out against those perpetrated outside of our borders."
