But now that President Joe Biden has included it in his infrastructure plan, suddenly conservatives like Ben Shapiro have a problem with spending on rural broadband access. That's ridiculous and actually pretty classist, Hayes Brown writes. "The fact is that high-speed internet is — and has been for a while now — considered a vital piece of infrastructure for our society," Brown writes. "And in trying to dunk on Biden, conservatives like Shapiro are in effect attempting to hurt efforts to finally close the gap between the urban elites and the rural areas that they claim to champion.
