That means the Senate will have a number of questions to answer about what this unprecedented trial actually looks like. Democrats, led by Sen. Chuck Schumer, will have a lot of leeway here as a newly empowered majority. But Schumer will have to balance several competing factors to pull this off, Hayes Brown explains in his newest essay. "Schumer has just three numbers to consider during the negotiations to set up the trial: 50 Democrats, 17 Republicans and 100 days," Brown writes.
