[View in browser]( [Image]( SEPTEMBER 25, 2019 DAY 979 OF THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION The White House released a summary of President Trump's July 25 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy earlier today. MSNBC's Chris Hayes read it and had this reaction: “My god, it is just flagrantly corrupt.” “The notes reveal an [open and obvious abuse of the totality of the United States foreign policy]( to extort a political investigation of Trump's political rival,” Hayes said. “It is exactly what we thought it was, but to see it so explicitly spelled out is shocking.” “What those notes reflect is a classic [mafia-like shakedown of a foreign leader](,” House Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff said on MSNBC. “This is is how a mafia boss talks.” Former Vice President Joe Biden, who is at the heart of President Trump's unsubstantiated allegations, [released a statement](saying, "It is a tragedy for this country that our president put personal politics above his sacred oath. He has put his own political interests over our national security interest, which is bolstering Ukraine against Russian pressure. It is an affront to every single American and the founding values of our country.” “This is only day two of official impeachment procedures,” points out Hayes. “What the Trump administration is letting us see, in the estimation of many, flatly confirms the impeachable facts that we already had.” Wednesday afternoon, lawmakers on the the Senate Intelligence Committee were able to read the [whistleblower complaint](. Late Wednesday night, the complaint was declassified with minimal redactions but not yet released to the public, sources tell NBC News. The expectation is that it will be released in the morning. “The complaint is very well-written and certainly provides information for the committee to [follow up]( with other witnesses and documents,” described Rep. Schiff, who was among the lawmakers permitted to view the classified complaint. He wasn't the only one concerned after reading the complaint. Sen. Ben Sasse, a Republican from Nebraska, said “there are really troubling things here.” “Republicans ought not to be rushing to circle the wagons to say 'there’s no there,'” said Sasse, a former Trump critic who was recently endorsed by the president. “Everybody in this whole process should slow down,” he added.
