Arriving to a [royal welcome]( from the British monarch and government and a collective raspberry from much of the public, President Donald Trump landed in England on Monday for his first official state visit to the U.K. â one that comes directly on the heels of the American president injecting himself into British domestic politics.Â
Â
President Trump [endorsed Boris Johnson]( for prime minister of the United Kingdom over the weekend, and it wasn't the first time he'd thrust himself into another nation's domestic political affairs.

[As NBC's Jonathan Allen Writes:]( "On one level, Trump's brash lobbying in foreign countries is just another case of norm-busting for a president who often rejects the niceties of both domestic and international politics. But at a deeper level, Trump's moves help normalize a practice that helped him win in 2016 and could advance his cause as he seeks re-election in 2020," adds Allen.Â
Â
During this morning's coverage of the pomp and circumstance, the Associated Press' [Jonathan Lemire](Â observed what might be the strategy in these state visits: "It's not a coincidence that there are four foreign trips. It's a deliberate attempt to show him [President Trump] looking presidential... while juxtaposing it with Democratic candidates."
At an [MSNBC town hall in Fresno, California Monday](, Chris Matthews asked 2020 hopeful Mayor Pete Buttigieg about impeaching the current president, as Democrats on the campaign trail and in the [halls of Congress]( continue to wrestle with what their party should do.Â
Â
Buttigieg said [he'd vote to impeach Trump]( if he were a member of Congress and impeachment were brought up for a vote, adding that the president "deserves to be impeached."

Buttigieg has generally supported a cautious approach while saying that since he's not in the House, it would be improper for him to tell Congress what to do.
Â
Also at the town hall, Buttigieg also [distanced himself from Democrats who pushed former Sen. Al Franken to resign]( amid allegations of sexual misconduct, an implicit critique of his primary competitor, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand.Â
"I think it was his decision to make, but I think the way we basically held him to a higher standard than the GOP does their people has been used against us," Buttigieg said. Pressed again on whether Democrats should have pushed for his ouster, Buttigieg added: "I would not have applied that pressure at that time before we knew more."
Mayor Pete also [voiced his opposition to the death penalty](, as well as his opposition to letting felons currently serving prison sentences vote, as Sen. Bernie Sanders has called for. Read more from Josh Lederman [here](.Â
