[View in browser]( [Image](  MAY 3, 2019 President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin [spoke Friday and both agreed "there was no collusion"]( between Moscow and Trump's 2016 presidential campaign, [White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said](. The conversation was by telephone, and lasted over an hour. While speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, President Trump was [asked repeatedly](, including by NBC's Kristen Welker, whether he raised the issue of election interference or warned the Russian president against interfering in future U.S. elections.  “We didn’t discuss that,” Trump said eventually.   Sanders said the Mueller report was discussed “very, very briefly.” [Image]( “[Putin] actually [sort of smiled]( when he said something to the effect that it started off as a mountain and it ended up being a mouse,” [said Trump]( of how Putin described the Russia probe. (The conversation was not over video conference.) At the same press conference, Trump said [he wouldn't prevent former special counsel Robert Mueller from testifying before Congress](, telling reporters he would leave that decision up to Attorney General William Barr.  "That's up to our attorney general, who I think has done a fantastic job," the president said.  Barr said earlier this week that he wouldn't prevent Mueller from testifying.  House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler [sent a final counteroffer Friday]( to AG Barr to obtain the full version of the special counsel's report, along with an ultimatum: If the Justice Department doesn’t comply, the panel will initiate contempt proceedings.  Nadler, who issued a subpoena for special counsel Robert Mueller's unredacted report and the underlying evidence on April 19, gave the Department of Justice a new deadline of 9 a.m. ET Monday to respond. Nadler's original deadline for the department to comply with the subpoena was Wednesday.  The DOJ declined to comment.
