This is [far under the federal sentencing guidelines]( that were recommended by Mueller’s office, which were for 19-and-a-half to 24 years. The judge said that he saw the sentencing range as “excessive,” and that Manafort “lived an otherwise blameless life.” He will be sentenced on two additional charges of conspiracy next Wednesday. Immediately following the verdict, MSNBC chief legal analyst Ari Melber [said this](: "We all remember what we learn about our legal system in America: It does not operate with equal force for everyone. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., that some lawmakers said were anti-Semitic. Amid a sharp split among Democrats, an initial plan for a resolution that focused on anti-Semitism was broadened to include language against Islamophobia — Omar is a Muslim — and hatred of many minority groups. The vote capped off a tumultuous week on the Hill, where what began as a fresh effort to pass a simple mid-week measure quickly evolved into a sprawling debate, exposing deep fault lines in the Democratic caucus.
