The comment naturally sparked outrage among residents of the swing state. It was also a busy few days for the U.S. Supreme Court. Justice Samuel Alito made headlines early in the week when [new audio recordings]( leaked of him complaining about ProPublica’s reporting and opining about the importance of defeating the political left. Additional recordings of his wife, Martha-Ann Alito, revealed she fantasized about flying an anti-gay flag in response to Pride flags.Meanwhile, with just a matter of weeks left in their term, the justices issued several major rulings. The court [rejected]( a challenge to the abortion pill mifepristone, allowing the commonly used drug to remain widely available — at least [for now](. The justices also struck down a [Trump-era bump stock ban](, a decision which Justice Sonia Sotomayor noted ["will have deadly consequences."]( However, some of the court’s most consequential rulings, including a key decision on Trump’s immunity from prosecution, are [still to come.]( After a weeklong trial, Hunter Biden was[found guilty]( on three felony gun charges. The president’s son was indicted on the [rarely prosecuted]( gun charges by a U.S. attorney originally appointed by Trump and made special counsel by Attorney General Merrick Garland. Meanwhile, President Joe Biden attended the 2024 G7 Summit in Italy, where he signed a historic 10-year security agreement with Ukraine, pledging America's long-term support. Missed something?
