With slightly more than two weeks until they face off in their [first presidential debate](, Joe Biden and Donald Trump have [doubled down]( on their campaign messaging strategies. During remarks in Normandy to honor the 80th anniversary of D-Day, Biden called for unity and warned of threats to democracy. The president also passed an “emergency” executive action to limit the number of asylum seekers accepted at the border, a move that has [sparked backlash]( among many Democrats.
