A guide to extending summer… [View in browser]( [Image](   [HOTELS]( [INSPIRATION]( [OFFERS]( Let us start by saying sorry. We went there – saying the ‘w’ word while we’re still in August. Shocking, we know, but there's no harm in being prepared. The time will come when we’re all yearning for a little sun to liven up sweater season. With this trusty guide, you’ll know just where to turn, from an off-grid lodge in Costa Rica to a pink palace in Marrakech. Think of it as as a comeback tour – the sort that ages very well… [EXPLORE OUR WINTER SUN COLLECTION](   MALLIOUHANA, ANGUILLA Like shoulder pads and power ballads, Anguilla's Malliouhana was big in the 1980s. Then the ever-attentive Auberge group gave it a loving makeover to cement its status as a first-class Caribbean crash-palace with designer panache – classic colonial architecture, splashes of tropical patterns, smart nautical stripes… Its all-pervading nothing-is-too-much-trouble approach also helps explain its A-list allure. [VIEW HOTEL](   [Alternate text]( PANAMERA, TULUM Tulum may not need any more hotspots, but Hotel Panamera heated things up without even trying. Although given it’s the brainchild of Derek Klein who already helms the strip’s striking indoor/outdoor cocktail bar, Gitano, it was probably to be expected. With only 14 rooms and an inviting saltwater pool it has a luxuriously and loungeably relaxed feel, with some exacting stylistic standards – you won’t find a palm out of place. [VIEW HOTEL](   LAPA RIOS LODGE, COSTA RICA This green-as-it-gets getaway acts as guardian to the 1,000 acres of dense rainforest it perches in. Its 17 sustainably built (and mostly open-air) suites are risen on stilts to canopy level so simply sitting and staring will be high on your list of things to do. Do devote some time to the hotel's myriad community and conservation efforts, though – they're an inspiring example, benefitting local flora, fauna, and folk. [VIEW HOTEL](   [Alternate text]( ROSEWOOD PHUKET Rosewood Phuket slinks over the sand in Emerald Bay, a patch of Thai coastline as delightful as it sounds. Stays here usually involve luxuriating on the pristine beach, swilling gin cocktails in the shade of palm trees, lounging on your private daybed and pootling between the trio of restaurants, one of which specialises in just-caught seafood. No corner is cut in the pursuit of true relaxation – at the spa, you can even pluck your own herbs and have the essential oils extracted in front of you. [VIEW HOTEL](   THE ASA MAIA, BALI Adults-only retreat Asa Maia is a short stroll from Thomas Beach in Uluwatu. Wooden walkways snake through the hotel’s verdant grounds, connecting century-old dwellings that were once traditional Javanese homes. After being re-assembled and restored by hand, the suites were spruced up with king-size beds and freestanding copper or Belgian bluestone baths. Zen zealots will find much to love in the yoga shala, tranquil spa and saltwater pool, and even staunch carnivores will be impressed by the restaurant’s vegan and pescatarian fare. [VIEW HOTEL](   [Alternate text]( AMANJENA, MARRAKECH If you’ve been to Marrakech before, Amanjena might seem oddly familiar. That’s because architect Ed Tuttle was inspired by El Badi, the rose-hued palace built for sultan Ahmad al-Mansur in the 16th century. Tuttle’s reimagining is a Moorish marvel of pink clay and mint-green tile that forms symmetrical facades, shady courtyards and peaceful pavilions. The hotel is seven kilometres from scent-filled souks of the medina, making the spa, pool and olive-studded gardens all the more serene.
