It's time to hit the boardwalk… [View in browser]( [Image](   [HOTELS]( [INSPIRATION]( [OFFERS]( Nothing says summer like a boardwalk thick with skaters, buskers and ice cream trucks. The Jersey Shore has more of them than anywhere else in the US, but there's one that New Yorkers can't seem get enough of: Asbury Park. The beachside town is having a real moment in the sun, buoyed up by its thriving art and live music scene. Now, it's got a hotel to match – a cool, clubby affair with a knockout Atlantic view. And we've plenty more besides, including a pair of prettified log cabins in North Carolina and a half-century old palazzo in the hills of Umbria. [SEE WHAT'S NEW](   ASBURY OCEAN CLUB, NEW JERSEY Seaside town Asbury Park had its first boom in the Twenties and Thirties, when city-weary New Yorkers came seeking open space and sunshine. The beach-grazing Asbury Ocean Club is now at the forefront of the town’s resurgence, proving the pleasure-seeking lifestyle is here to stay. The modern, glass-walled building is just back from the sand, edged by gardens, a sprawling deck and an Atlantic-facing pool with a bar slinging craft beers, gin cocktails and California wines. [VIEW HOTEL](   [Alternate text]( THE GOODTIME HOTEL, MIAMI This South Beach stay is a project by musician Pharell Williams and nightlife mogul David Grutman. As you've probably guessed from the name, it's a hotel for those who like to let the good times roll (and roll). The candy cane-striped pool hosts parties that run all day on weekends, soundtracked by star DJs and sustained with tequila and tacos. Inside, restaurant Strawberry Moon has fast become the most in-demand brunch spot in town, serving Mediterranean meze, Turkish pizzas and swordfish shawarma kebabs. [VIEW HOTEL](   HOTEL MAGDALENA, AUSTIN South Congress is Austin’s most happening ’hood and Hotel Magdalena is entirely in tune with it. Formerly a motel owned by Willie Nelson, this pitch-perfect stay is now dressed with recycled cedar wood, colourful tiles and photographs showcasing the building’s connection to the cowboy singer. When you’re not hanging out on the lawns or lapping the pool, head out to soak up the atmosphere on Congress Avenue, lined with live-music venues and classic diners. [VIEW HOTEL](   [Alternate text]( FLAT MOUNTAIN FARM, HIGHLANDS This duo of handsome log cabins is surrounded by temperate rainforest in North Carolina’s stretch of the southern Appalachians. What's outside may be wild but the the rooms are anything but. Owners Margaret and Chris Shutze are both designers, drawing on a wealth of experience when selecting furniture, designer fabrics and Italian linens to soften the cabin's period features. Spend lazy days here trout fishing, swimming in lakes and hiking to waterfalls, before heading into Highlands for sundowners. [VIEW HOTEL](   HOTEL LES DEUX GARES, PARIS Parisians might be famous for their all-black outfits but Hotel les Deux Gares leaves the Gallic restraint at the doorstep. The eye-popping interiors are the work of British designer Luke Eward Hall, who sends you down the rabbit hole here. Psychedelic carpets vie for attention alongside geometric wallpapers, hand-painted lamps and mid-century armchairs by Paolo Buffa. It sounds mad as a March hare but it all hangs together like a joyous fable. [VIEW HOTEL](   [Alternate text]( RASTRELLO, UMBRIA Umbrian beauty Rastrello is in Panicale, a mediaeval village overlooking Lake Trasimeno from the slopes of Mount Petravella. The hotel takes its name from the hand rakes used in the olive harvest, a hint at the rural bliss that lies in store for all who venture up here. The 16th-century palazzo looks out over Renaissance gardens, wooded hills and a valley carpeted with sun-toasted fields. Depending on the season, you can go truffle hunting, join the olive harvest, boat on the lake or make Umbrian classics with the chefs.
