It’s just a quick one to say thank you, to you and our whole Mozilla community around the world, for everything you did to make the internet a better place in 2021. I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved, from speaking out against social media companies’ secrecy to identifying threats to our data and investigating algorithms that put our well being at risk. As a team, we’ve championed everything that’s good about the web, and we’ve stood up to those making it a more dangerous, damaging place. And we’ll keep doing the same – bigger, louder and with even more determination – in 2022. A few weeks ago, we invited you to write a letter of appreciation to the web, saying how it’s helped you connect, heal and learn this year. And so many of you sent in wonderful responses. So I thought I’d start this new year by sharing extracts from some of the most inspiring, fun and thought-provoking messages we received… “I love that you connect me with my loved ones, that I can share smiles, sunsets and sunrises with them, that thanks to you we can laugh, talk and be there for each other.” “The internet lets me travel all over the world to learn about all sorts of animals, cultures, natural environments, and all places I would never be able to visit in my lifetime.” “It’s always there, a friend and a fountain of knowledge.” “I love the beautiful lawn I was able to cultivate from invaluable advice found on the internet!” “Thank you internet for all the free laughs.” I hope you’ll agree, that’s an uplifting way to step into January. Thanks for being with us, and I hope the new year brings good things for you. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
