We’ve seen him be investigated and now indicted on a number of federal charges, just days after admitting to crimes in Brazil as part of a deal with prosecutors.4,5 But Kevin McCarthy and his shameless MAGA Republicans seem content to keep Santos around as long as possible to retain one more Republican seat in their razor-thin majority. Their shameless vote against expulsion this week shows that there really is no limit to what they'll accept if it means they hold on to power. Even if the GOP is doing everything in their power to hold onto Santos, the fight isn’t over. We have to continue raising pressure and demanding our voices be heard. We deserve leaders who will protect our communities, not protect MAGA frauds in order to preserve power.
