A right-wing judge just issued a national ban on mifepristone. We can't let conservative extremists

A right-wing judge just issued a national ban on mifepristone. We can't let conservative extremists and anti-abortion crusaders control our health care, autonomy, and freedom. Dear MoveOn member, A Trump-picked, extreme right-wing judge just issued a rulling to ban on mifepristone—a safe, essential medication for abortion access.1 We will fight this ban and the immediate impact isn't clear—but what is clear is that we can't let conservative extremists and anti-abortion crusaders control our health care, autonomy, and freedom. We must take collective action now to ensure that an FDA-approved, safe, and effective drug for abortion is available to anyone that seeks it. [Will you add your name to the demand that higher courts reverse Trump-appointed Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk's unprecedented and unfounded ruling? Higher courts and Congress must act immediately on behalf of us all!]( The courts must reverse this harmful decision concerning mifepristone and uphold the law for the sake of our health, autonomy, and freedom. [Sign the petition]( The ruling in Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. FDA ordering the FDA to withdraw its approval of mifepristone is unconscionable. Mifepristone—approved more than 20 years ago and used effectively by millions of people for medication abortion—is perfectly safe. Anti-abortion extremists are attempting to use the courts to ban abortion nationwide, even in states that have legal protections for abortion access. That's why together we are asking higher courts to reverse this unprecedented and anti-abortion ruling and restore access to mifepristone. And Congress must act to protect and expand abortion access for all people. "A Texas judge just issued a national ruling against medication abortion. What now?" Vox, April 7, 2023 [ Want to support MoveOn’s work? Voters just defied history and stopped a MAGA wave of extremism at the polls. But there is more work to do to end the filibuster, codify abortion rights into law, and defend our freedoms, our families, and our futures. We can accomplish all this and more, but only if we work together.
