Sign the petition now and demand accountability. Dear MoveOn member, Last weekend, Rep. Marjorie Tay

Sign the petition now and demand accountability. [Sign now: Expel Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene from Congress!]( Dear MoveOn member, Last weekend, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene stated that if she and Steve Bannon had been in charge of the January 6 coup, they would have "won," and they would have been armed.1 Greene's comments, along with the event's host calling for "total war" against progressives, are a chilling reflection of the MAGA agenda and the grave threat this movement poses to our country. We originally launched this petition in 2021 calling for Greene to be expelled from Congress, and once again, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's rhetoric and harmful comments prove that she is a threat to our country and freedoms. [Will you join more than 150,000 MoveOn members in calling for Greene to be expelled from Congress? Sign now!]( Expel Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene from Congress. There is no place in Congress for her racism, Islamophobia, antisemitism, conspiracy theories, and attacks against survivors of gun violence. [Sign the petition]( Greene's comments were purportedly meant to demonstrate that she had no role in planning the insurrection. But the evidence suggests otherwise. Greene's constituents sued to keep her off of the 2022 ballot under the 14th Amendment's disqualification from public office of anyone who swore an oath to the United States before engaging in insurrection against it.2 While a judge ruled that she could stay on the ballot, he also acknowledged that her violent rhetoric fed into the event. She also may have perjured herself during that trial, hiding text messages she'd sent Trump's chief of staff urging Trump to declare martial law as a means to hold onto power against the will of voters.3 In the wake of the violent January 6 insurrection, Greene went so far over the line espousing QAnon conspiracy theories that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy was forced to make the rare act of removing her from GOP committee assignments.4 But now that the GOP is headed to a razor-thin majority in the House, he's reportedly been kowtowing to Greene to secure her support for his bid to remain the top House Republican.5So, instead of being punished for her increasingly violent rhetoric, the most powerful Republicans in Congress are expected to reward her loyalty. From January 6 to the recent attack on Paul Pelosi and targeted mass shootings across the country, we've seen how this dangerous rhetoric can actually inspire violence. But enough is enough. We can't allow politicians who continue to spread hate to stay in power. [Add your name and demand accountability now!]( Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's conduct is not just inappropriate for someone in her position—it puts her colleagues and our politics in danger. Kevin McCarthy has the power to act. We must demand that Greene and all other MAGA Republicans be held accountable, and reject the move to normalize their harmful language. Want to support MoveOn's work? Voters just defied history and stopped a MAGA wave of extremism at the polls. But there is more work to do to end the filibuster, codify abortion rights into law, and defend our freedoms, our families, and our futures. We can accomplish all this and more, but only if we work together.  Will you chip in right now to power our critical work? [Click here to chip in $3, or whatever you can afford.]( --------------------------------------------------------------- PAID FOR BY MOVEON POLITICAL ACTION, .
