Hey, {NAME}! It looks like you didn't finish your donation to MoveOn yesterday. [We wanted to make sure you had a chance to complete it by clicking here.]( You can also read below for more details. -Kelly, Oscar, Adam, Kathy, and the rest of the Fundraising Team --------------------------------------------------------------- Dear MoveOn member, Mark Finchem is the Republican nominee for secretary of state in Arizona. Here's his resume: - Joined the white supremacist Oath Keepers militia.1 - Attacked the Capitol with the insurrectionists on January 6.2 - Declared elections are ordained by God.3 - Sponsored legislation to reject the results of a presidential election.4 - Called the "poster child for election-deniers" by Politico.5 In normal times, any one of these would be disqualifying for a job, let alone running for elected office. In Steve Bannon and Donald Trump's America, they get you the GOP nomination for secretary of state in Arizona. That's right. Mark Finchem is now one election away from becoming the official in charge of elections in one of the most important swing states for 2024.6 Trump and Bannon have made clear they will stop at nothing to ensure they retake the White House. That's why MoveOn has made the unprecedented decision to invest $30 million into the 2022 midterm elections, the largest amount in our history. We knew early that this year was going to be like no other, and we have been preparing for months to confront it head-on. Our plan is to turn out exactly the voters we believe will turn the tide on the primary results of a MAGA Republican Party. It's why we need your sustained help from now to Election Day. Please make a $3 donation today to ensure we have the resources to stop Team Trump's hand-picked marionettes from winning in November and putting our democracy on a crash course. [Yes, I'll chip in.]( But make no mistake, Mark Finchem is only the tip of the iceberg. Bannon and the dark money group, "America First Secretary of State Coalition" (first announced by Finchem on Bannon's podcast) are supporting election deniers across the country who are running for secretary of state.7 These candidates include Jim Marchant, the Republican nominee for secretary of state in Nevada. Marchant was one of the fake electors Trump tried to pass off as legitimate and has openly said he would not have certified the election results for President Joe Biden.8 And Kristina Karamo in Michigan, who called abortion "satanic" and believes that demonic possession can be transferred through sexual contact. She believes Trump is still president and has pledged to decertify the 2020 results if she's elected this fall.9 [Can you make a donation today of $3 to help make sure we have the resources to stop the team Steve Bannon is pushing in his quest to give the White House back to Trump?]( In 2020, we organized, volunteered, and voted to keep American democracy alive. We fought for an America that holds up Black and brown voices; that celebrates the humanity of LGBTQ+ youth and people of all ages; that sees trans families and disabled people as our strength. In the coming months, we must work to elect public servants who will uphold and strengthen these values and stand up to those who are hellbent on undermining them. Thanks for all you do. –Chris, Allison, Jenn, Bekir, and the rest of the team Sources: 1. Donald Trump and his allies are methodically enacting a plan to place some of Trump's most ardent supporters in key election offices that oversee vote counting, have the power to certify—or decertify—election results, and declare election winners and losers. We've launched a powerful, multimillion-dollar campaign to stop Trump. But we need your help to power our effort. Will you chip in to power our campaign to defeat Trump and the GOP in 2022?
