It is time to impeach Clarence Thomas. Dear MoveOn member, It is time to impeach Clarence Thomas. It started when he sexually harassed Anita Hill—and then lied about it under oath.1 It got worse when his family accepted $200,000 from a group with an active amicus brief in front of the Supreme Court and when his wife, far-right activist and election denier Ginni Thomas, had her group, Liberty Central, launch a campaign to repeal the Affordable Care Act while Thomas voted to gut the law.2,3 It finally reached a fever pitch when Thomas was the lone dissenting vote in the Supreme Court decision requiring Trump to release records on the January 6 insurrection, when it was exposed that his wife was involved in transporting hundreds of rioters to Washington, D.C.4 This man has violated conflict of interest rules, abused power, and showed a lack of ethics and morality totally unbecoming a Supreme Court justice, which is why MoveOn has launched a campaign to have him impeached. This Thursday, with the help of Representative Ilhan Omar, one of the first members of Congress to call for his impeachment, we will deliver the signatures of more than 1.2 million MoveOn members to Congress. {NAME}, will you help us continue to pressure Congress to begin impeachment proceedings against Clarence Thomas by donating $5 a month? Delivering petition signatures is a first step in what must be a drumbeat of calls, letters, direct action, and voter engagement for as long as it takes to keep Thomas from doing any more damage. [Yes, I'll chip in monthly.]( [No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.]( Leaving Thomas in his position has allowed him to be a champion of right-wing extremism—writing decisions undermining gun safety laws, joining the majority in gutting efforts to combat climate change, and fulfilling his extremist vision of overturning Roe and taking away the right to self-determination. And he's not done, declaring that gay marriage, contraception, and sex between consenting LGBTQ+ adults will be next to be stripped of legal protections.5 That's why we need your help. After we deliver the signatures, besides pushing members of Congress to hold hearings, we will work to elect Democrats who are ready to use the power of their office and majority to confront this right-wing court that has been seized by Republican power grabs. But as a grassroots organization, we can do it only with your support, {NAME}. Can you chip in $5 a month to help power the campaign? [Yes, I'll chip in monthly.]( [No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.]( It is not only that Thomas hurts the most vulnerable; it is also that he destroys the basic integrity of the court when he fails to disclose his conflicts and refuses to remove himself from these decisions. What Thomas is doing has undermined the very foundation on which our country is built: equal justice under the law. Together, we can keep the pressure on Democrats to hold Thomas accountable, reform the Supreme Court, and keep Republicans, who will never hold Thomas accountable, out of power. We've launched a powerful, multimillion-dollar campaign to stop Trump. But we need your help to power our effort. Will you chip in monthly to power our campaign to defeat Trump and the GOP in 2022?
