Last night was just another reminder that congressional leaders must take decisive action to hold Reps. Boebert and Greene accountable. [Sign the petition: Expel Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert from Congress!]( Dear MoveOn member, On Tuesday night, Representatives Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene made national headlines with their repeated disruptions and heckling of President Biden’s State of the Union address.1 This was just the latest in a long pattern of behavior that demonstrates both Reps. Boebert and Greene are absolutely unfit to serve as members of Congress. In fact, Marjorie Taylor Greene attended the America First Political Action Conference this weekend, which was hosted by a well known white supremacist, Nick Fuentes.2 This conference is widely considered to propagate and support white nationalism. As a massive uptick in Nazi and white nationalist sentiments spreads across the globe, people affiliated with such bigotry should not have the authority to legislate the lives of Americans. These representatives are unfit for Congress, and their ideologies have no place within the halls of power. They must be removed. We're calling on Leader Schumer and Speaker Pelosi to expel Reps. Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene from Congress! [Sign the petition]( Since getting elected in 2020, both Reps. Boebert and Greene have been known for their openly white supremacist beliefs.3And in addition to stoking racist hatred throughout the conservative movement, both representatives and their staffs reportedly played major roles in laying the groundwork for the January 6 insurrection.4 On that morning of January 6, Rep. Boebert tweeted, "Today is 1776,"5 while Rep. Greene has explicitly compared the violent riots of that day to the Declaration of Independence.6 The actions and rhetoric of Reps. Boebert and Greene actively threaten the lives of millions of Americans, especially Black people and people of color, and endanger the democratic principles that are the foundation of our nation. Last night was just another reminder that congressional leaders must take decisive action to hold Reps. Boebert and Greene accountable. Speaker Pelosi must begin taking the steps to permanently expel these two representatives from Congress, so that they can no longer undermine our nation's institutions and values.
