In any job in America, what would happen if you made a video depicting yourself murdering a coworker

In any job in America, what would happen if you made a video depicting yourself murdering a coworker and brandishing two swords at the CEO? Dear MoveOn member, In any job in America, what would happen if you made a video depicting yourself murdering a coworker and brandishing two swords at the CEO?1 Exactly. You would be fired. That's precisely what far-right Congressman Paul Gosar of Arizona did on Sunday night when he gleefully posted a video on his official congressional Twitter account portraying himself brutally killing Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and attacking President Joe Biden.2 It's sick, and it's not the first time Gosar has been part of violence aimed at his colleagues in Congress. It comes of the heels of a bombshell report from Rolling Stone that revealed that Gosar, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and five other GOP members of Congress coordinated and planned the events of January 6.3 Rolling Stone also reported that Ali Alexander, who helped organize the events of January 6, said in a since-deleted livestream broadcast that Gosar and two other GOP members of Congress helped him formulate the strategy. In that broadcast, he said, "I was the person who came up with the Jan. 6 idea with Congressman Gosar, Congressman Mo Brooks, and Congressman Andy Biggs. We four schemed up on putting maximum pressure on Congress while they were voting so that ... we could change the hearts and the minds of Republicans who were in that body hearing our loud roar from outside."4 The 14th Amendment says that someone who "engaged in insurrection" cannot serve in Congress.5 And now Gosar is threatening and glorifying violence against Rep. Ocasio-Cortez and President Biden. This man is dangerous and needs to be held accountable. That's why MoveOn is leading a massive effort to hold Gosar and the other insurrectionists accountable by demanding their immediate resignation or expulsion from Congress. And if Congress won't take action, we'll be ready to meet them at the ballot box next November. The horrific video from Gosar underscores the importance of this effort. Will you chip in $5 a month to make sure we can hold Rep. Gosar and the other insurrectionists accountable—either in Congress, or next year at the ballot box? [Yes, I'll chip in monthly.]( [No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.]( Rep. Gosar's violent video has been viewed over 3.4 million times.6 The video appears to be an edited version of the opening credits from the anime series "Attack on Titan"—which is hugely popular among white supremacists, who see it as a tool to spread white supremacy.7,8 Gosar boasted on Twitter that "the creativity of my team is off the hook."9 The House select committee investigating the January 6 attack has asked social media and telecommunications companies to preserve Gosar's phone and computer records as part of its investigation.10 {NAME}, we must hold this dangerous man and the other GOP insurrectionists accountable. There must be clear legal consequences for planning to overthrow the U.S. government and glorifying political violence. We have an ambitious plan to hold Rep. Gosar and the other January 6 seditionists accountable: - We're mobilizing pressure on these Republicans in their home districts to demand their resignation and are prepared to launch billboards, TV ads, and online messaging so that constituents know exactly how dangerous their representatives' words and actions are. - At the same time, we're building grassroots support for Democratic leaders in Congress to use their authority to enforce the 14th Amendment by expelling Rep. Gosar and the other Republican members of Congress who aided and organized the January 6 events. - We're continuing to put pressure on GM, AT&T, Apple, and other corporations for the ways they continue to financially and materially support insurrectionist Republicans and the dangerous disinformation they spread about our elections and the events of January 6. - And we're preparing to run a massive midterm election campaign to defeat these seditionists at the ballot box and ensure that the Republicans who are turning a blind eye toward their behavior do not retake control of Congress. But our resources come from our members, and we can't make it happen without you. Will you chip in $5 a month to power this work? [Yes, I'll chip in monthly.]( [No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.]( Thanks for all you do. –Justin, Erica, Victoria, Erik, and the rest of the team Sources: 1.
