We're kicking off #ResistanceRecess with our biggest call yet.
Dear MoveOn member,
Are you ready for #ResistanceRecess?
The first congressional recess of the Trump administration is underway. Your members of Congress—your representative and your two senators—have likely headed home for a week of "district work"; that is, to meet with constituents and hear from the communities they represent. This is one of our best opportunities to make our voices heard in person with our elected officials—and to show the media and broader public that the resistance has unprecedented energy and real momentum and impact.
We'll be ready. Tomorrow, Sunday, February 19, will you join MoveOn, Indivisible, #AllofUs, and tens of thousands of people across the country on the Ready to Resist national call to kick off #ResistanceRecess?
[Click here to RSVP, and we'll call you at the number you provide at 8 p.m. ET (7 CT/6 MT/5 PT) tomorrow, Sunday, to join the call.](
You can also listen in and ask questions via the livestream of the call at moveon.org/readytoresist.

Already, together we're making headlines—including hitting the front page of today's New York Times—by showing up in droves at members of Congress's town halls and other in-person events back home.1 We're changing the conversation, making it harder for Trump to enact his agenda, and developing the kind of progressive, community-based, visionary leadership that will restore our country.
This is the fourth call in our popular Ready to Resist series, which we launched the weekend of the historic Women's Marches. We hoped 1,000 would join that first call; 60,000 did, breaking a Guinness World Record for the most people in a live conversation together.2We can break that record again, but only if you join the call Sunday night and spread the word! (And if this is your first call, welcome!)
This Sunday, we'll hear from
- Yong Jung Cho, co-founder of #AllofUs and former Campaign Coordinator with 350 Action, who'll share stories of successful interactions with elected officials that have led to substantive commitments and action;
- Ezra Levin, co-author of the Indivisible Guide and former congressional staffer, who'll walk us through what to expect at town hall meetings, district office visits, and other recess events, and how to make the most of the opportunity;
- Rafael Shimunov, National Creative Director with the Working Families Party, who'll regale us with tips and ideas for making our own media;
- Jezebel Jimenez, youth leader with Make the Road New Jersey, will brief us on how we can respond as a community to Trump's immigration sweeps; and
- Activists sharing stories from recent town hall meetings and local actions.
Will you join the Ready to Resist call this Sunday, February 19, at 8 p.m. ET (7 CT/6 MT/5 PT) to learn how to unite in positive, peaceful action this week?
[RSVP for the call here, and then invite your family and friends.](
Talk with you Sunday night!
And thanks for all you do.â¨
